I bought this Outback last year for my wife to drive as she worked in a regional position for the US Census and was going to drive quite a bit. We bought this low mileage example one year ago and then did the following preventive work prior to her using the car: Replaced both front axles (CV) $400Timing Belt $275Head Gaskets $350All belts $150Tires (Goodyear) $700 lots of tread left, look like new see picsTotal $1,875 Our mechanic, who works on these cars regularly, suggested that since the weather is good in SC that we should remove the back section of drive shaft to get better mileage, so we did that as well. It was ½ hour of labor and it will be included with the car. The car uses 90% front/10% rear at speeds above 10 mph, I would leave it off until winter. Everything in the car works, the air is ice cold, cruise and all electrics works. This car has less than 125,000 miles and the automatic transmission shifts smoothly. It has a dent on the passenger side rear door (look at the pictures my son is pointing to the dent) and some scratches on the front and rear bumper covers, the paint itself looks good and is NOT faded. She did what we asked of her and my obsession for preventive maintenance is going to benefit someone for years to come. This wagon has many miles to go. My wife averaged 26~27 MPG on the road and 20 MPG around town and with the big fuel tank you can go nearly forever on a tank. There is no reserve on this auction and the car is sold as is, where is. No worries, no signs of being smoked in and the stereo is after-market but definitely an upgrade from stock with an input for MP3 player. The seats are firm and maybe a few smalls stains but still very nice. the headliner is very good. Bid with confidence, I would buy it myself if it were a year ago.
