Vehicle Detail
This is a 1984 Honda Odyssey FL250. It has the original stock 250cc 2 stroke engine with snow mobile style belt driven automatic transmission. It is in good condition and runs fine. My nephews ran it for hours on end a few weekends ago without any problems. Probably tops out at 30-35mph. I put new tires on the back this summer. Fronts are fair and hold air, no problem. The seat is aftermarket racing style. The 4 point harness is original and works although it is showing it's age. The plastic is great on the back. The front fenders have a couple repairs but it looks good overall. No major damage, just some minor dings and scratches. Not bad for a 26 year old machine. The engine and tranny are very clean and runs fine. It is a two stroke air cooled unit. I replaced the fluid in the transmission with Lucas climbing gear lube. The gas and brake controls are mounted on the steering wheel and are trigger controlled. It has a single rear disc brake that is in good condition and it stops nicely. They didn't come with front brakes. It has a parking brake (drum style) that works but either needs adjusted or new shoes to work like new. I have not messed with that. I use it, but also hold the main brake when starting it. I put new padding on the roll bars. It has front shocks for suspension, rear uses balloon tires only. It is a pull start only, but Goki sells an electric start unit that is popular for these and would be a nice addition. At some point the fuel pump must have failed and a previous owner made it a gravity feed system by mounting the fuel tank up higher. It could easily be put back in the original position with a new fuel pump installed but it worked fine for me. The tank is mounted securely as is. I prefer local pick up in Akron, Ohio. Any shipping will be handled by the buyer. On Aug-23-10 at 19:09:59 PDT, seller added the following information:You can see in the picture if you look that the seat cover is taped from the shoulder level up. There is a tear under there that the previous owner taped over. I wasn't bad, but I took off the old tape to see and put heavy duty black duct tape over it, overlapped so it won't let water in.
