Vehicle Detail

1976 Ford Torino 2 door coupe. Plain Jane model. Came with Power Steering and Power Brakes. A/C was dealer installed here in town. Car was purchased new here and has been here all its life. Was originally purchased by an elderly gentleman and then upon his death was sold in 2006. It has a little rust in all the usual places (see pics). The right rear quarter panel has rust thru, but there doesn't appear to be other major rust on the car. It has the 351 Windsor engine that runs pretty good. Car has been sitting for a year so needs some fine tuning. I think it also needs a new intake manifold gasket as it is leaking a little oil out of the rear top of the engine. The transmission shifts as it should and the brakes work great. The steering is SUPER easy to steer. I can steer the car with one finger (amazing). It has good tires all the way around and a spare that holds air but is not a radial tire. Car is sold AS-IS and Where is. I recommend picking it up on a trailer as it has been sitting for a while. I do not recommend driving it until you have had a chance to drive it around a little and get a good feel for the car, and have a chance to go over it. Please ask any and all questions and I will get back to you as soon as possible. On Aug-23-10 at 18:27:35 PDT, seller added the following information: Please hold off on bidding until I have a chance to post pics. This is a 36 year old car and today I found a few more rust spots. I also forgot to mention that the front seat will need upholstry work. It is ripped on the drivers bottom and back. The carpet is a little faded but the dash and door panels are excellent. I will try and post pics on tuesday if all goes well. I got tied up at work today. Sorry for the inconvienience. On Aug-24-10 at 06:51:52 PDT, seller added the following information: I have loaded pics. The carpet is torn where the drivers feet are and is faded. The door panels have a few nicks on them (see pics). The bright yellow I am trying to remove to see how the body really is. I have removed most of it and will be working on the rest today. I will add pics once I have finished. The elderly gentleman that had the car had althizmers and one day decided to paint the car with spray cans, when the family got home they were shocked. There is a rust hole on the left front fender bottom and around the wheel wells as seen in pics. Please look carefully at pics and ask any questions and I will try and answer them. I will add pics of the front and grill once I finish removing the bright yellow and have put the grill back in.On Aug-24-10 at 06:58:58 PDT, seller added the following information: Forgot to mention that it will need exhaust work also. I started it up today and moved it to take pics and realized I didn't mention the exhaust is in need of attention. On Aug-24-10 at 16:04:39 PDT, seller added the following information: After removing the bright yellow paint you can see the rust spost alot better. Alot of the brown spots on the left rear quarter are where I got down to the primer they are not rust holes. The right and left rear quarter have had bondo in them I took pics, so take a good look at the last 8 pics I just added.
