My baja is a daily street driven car with a newer 1600 engine and is super reliable. It is a 64 body on a 67 pan with a full cage that runs from the front bumper to the rear bumper and is tied into the suspension and frame. The transmission is a wide '67 swingaxle and an aftermarket long travel link pin front end. The fiberglass nose is a one piece unit with dzus fasteners. It has a gazillion gallon long range gas tank in the rear and SCAT Pro car seats in the front which are sunbeaten and worn which is why they are covered. The rear tires are 31 inchers and the fronts have radials that air down nicely for the sand. The basket on the roof is a Thule unit with Thule cross bars and a high Thule foot kit. This basket is great for carrying tons of gear and we used it to carry firewood for camping. The rear cage is part of the roll cage and has a custom class 3 hitch welded on which we used to tow our camper. Four shocks in the rear are tied into the full roll cage and have long travel. The front bumper is also tied into the roll cage and is heavy duty like the rear. The horn does not work and there are only turn signals in the rear. Comes with a brand new in the box windshield since the one in the car has a crack. The car runs excellent and was driven daily without ANY problems. This car was built in the Las Vegas desert and is a true baja and not some silly standard bug fitted with a fiberglass kit. This is the real deal and I have several thousand dollars worth of receipts that go with it for the new motor, brakes, transmission refresh etc. I love this baja and the attention it draws wherever I go, but my girlfriend doesn't share my ethusiasm so we decided to drop lots of $ on a restored stock bug (the one in the background), so this one has to go. The NYS transferrable registration (New Yorks title) is clear and in my name. Please note that this car is no show car and is not being sold as one. Please see all the pictures and video or even better....make an appointment to come look at it in person to get an idea of it's condition as the pictures make the paint look better than it is. This car should go to a VW enthusiast or someone who knows what they are looking at and can appreciate it. This car was shipped from the Las Vegas desert and you will not find a real Baja bug like this on the east coast. Although I am sure the new owner will have lots of fun and many trouble free miles, I am selling this as is with no warranty. The car, the rebuilt engine speak for themselves. A $300 deposit will be required at the end of the auction through paypal, so please be prepared to send this if you are the winner. The balance is to paid in full within 1 week when the car is to be collected by you. If you are having the car shipped, payment needs to arrive and clear before the driver shows up. Car is located in Suffolk County on Long Island and must be picked up here.
