Vehicle Detail
Thank you all for looking at this listing. This is for a 2000 Volkswagen New Beetle. It's an automatic transmission. Here is the story with the vehicle that will explain the chain of events that put it in it's current condition. Engine Burns Oil In the winter of 2008, we hit a chuck hole that was so large that it punctured a hole in the oil pan. We took it to a repair shop and they said that we would have to get the replacement pan from the dealership. When we went to the dealership, they had a pan available but not with the oil sensor (this vehicle has an oil sensor). I spoke to the repair shop and they said that the pan without the sensor would be fine so we had it installed. Fast Forward to the summer of 2009. We had another oil change before it was to be driven to Washington DC for trip. Had the oil change and set off on the trip. Drove 1000 give or take and made it back home. The engine was ticking and exhausting a little oil when you took off. I looked under the car and saw that the Walmart oil change technician had put some blue glue on the oil plug when he damaged it and a never told me wife about it after the oil change. So the oil pan slowly leaked for 1000 miles and now the engine has damage that it caused from very low oil . Since the oil pan didn't have a sensor, my wife didn't know that the car was running without oil. It burns oil and leaves a plume when you take off. It need an engine rebuild or just a rebuilt engine installed. Air Condition doesn't work In the spring of 2009 we had the oil changed before we went on a trip. While on our trip, we tried to use the air conditioning that worked the previous year but it no longer worked. We believe the individual that changed the oil kinked our AC line and it let out all the coolant. Rear spoiler broken and trunk dented When we came home from Thanksgiving, someone was not having a very happy holidays and saw it fit to through a brick at the car. So there is a dent in the trunk below the fender and the spoiler it snapped apart from one side of the trunk. The condition of the vehicle is between fair and poor but the other problems are superficial. Radios LCD screen has bleeding Rear view adjustment needs replacedPassenger side power window control needs replaced.Front part under the bumper is cracked (see picture) The wheels are alloy and 3 of the 4 tires were almost new when the car became un-drivable. This vehicle is a fixer upper. It still runs but it needs some work done obviously. The interior upholstery need a good cleaning but it's still in good shape. The trim above the door handles had a rubbery coating that VW had put on but it's scratched off in places. You can see in the pictures. I've seen a car dealer just paint over it when I saw a similar vehicle on a car lot. If you want to have this car shipped, that is no problem but it up to you to make the arrangements. The car runs and can be driven on the truck.
