Vehicle Detail
Nice 1981 Ford F-100 pickup, daily driver. 4.9L-300 six cylinder engine, 3-speed manual transmission. 8-foot (long) bed. Original, unmolested condition. Cab mounts and floors are rock solid. Glass is perfect. Inside of bed is extremely clean because the truck had a topper on it for most of its life. Newer exhaust, master cylinder and many more parts. Brand-new Goodyear Wrangler P235/75R-15 tires and fresh front end alignment. I also have a brand-new pair of rear shocks for it that I will install before you pick it up. You can see the good and the bad in the photos. The engine seeps oil from various locations; I haven't bothered replacing any of the gaskets. Odometer shows 61,000 miles which I am guessing is 161,000. Paint is fair and has fading/blemishes. There is obviously some rust repair above the left rear wheel opening, which I tried to show in the photo, but that's all I can find on the truck. The clutch is tight and engages smoothly. Brakes are manual front disc and work great. Accessories include a Kenwood KDC-7009 hideaway CD stereo, sliding rear window and power steering - that's about it. The truck is geared for economy and runs fine down the expressway at 70+ mph. But bear in mind that it's a 30-year-old truck and needs to be treated accordingly. It is far from perfect, but it's a sharp-looking, clean and solid old truck that always starts right up. I'm selling it because I found my DREAM truck - a '65 F100 - and I can't afford to keep both. This is a NO RESERVE auction. You have every right to inspect this vehicle in person, and to ask all questions BEFORE you bid. Once you place the winning bid, understand that you have committed to purchase - I won't play games. Full payment is due within seven (7) days of auction end. A non-refundable deposit of $100 is due within 48 hours. And the winning bidder MUST contact me ASAP to make arrangements for payment and pick-up. Bidders with zero (0) feedback must contact me before bidding, or your bid will be cancelled... sorry. Thank you for looking! On Aug-23-10 at 17:29:58 PDT, seller added the following information: Update: I have added more driver's side photos of the truck. As noted above, it appears there has been rust repair/filler over the left rear wheel opening. It is starting to bubble and may need redone at some point. Other than that, I find no evidence of rust or rot, even in the cab mounts or underbody. PLEASE NOTE that I may cancel this auction at any time, so if you're serious, bid early. If I don't feel the sale price is getting close to something reasonable, I will gladly end the auction and keep the truck. Thanks again. On Aug-24-10 at 12:01:49 PDT, seller added the following information: Update 8/24/10 - The new Monroe Sensa-Trac coil-over shocks are now on, and the truck rides better than ever. Just took it on a 45-mile ride after installing the shocks this morning. No problems... even got a thumbs-up from someone else in a nice old Ford!On Aug-25-10 at 19:59:58 PDT, seller added the following information: Please disregard the statement above, about my cancelling the auction at any time. Apparently, this places me in violation of eBay policies, so there will be no cancellation on my part. However, eBay will not allow me to delete the offending statement, so this is my only recourse. Thank you.
