Vehicle Detail
1999 Volkswagen Passat GLS V6 Sedan Up for sale is this 1999 VW V6 Passat. The car is in good condition, rides and handles well, and has been a great car to own. It has been in no accidents, and is caught up on maintenance and has most of the costs associated with a used VW already taken care of: New Timing Belt, Water Pump, Idle Roller, Tension Roller at 97,000 Miles. This is a $1400 job that every interference engine driven volkswagen needs. They have a tendency to break when not changed, if youre looking at Passats and Jettas make sure its been replaced in the vehicles lifetime. New Spark Plugs, Plug Wires, and Battery purchased in June 2010 New silicone high temp vacuum lines and new radiator. Unfortunately after replacing all these items in the car it was the victim of a smash and grab. The radio was ripped out as well as parts of the bezel and dashboard. I have replaced the dash and bezel, but the car is still missing the radio. The radio wiring harness *seems* to be undamaged, but I have not been able to put in a radio to verify this. Since the theft the vehicle has been in a "limp" mode, where by the car is electronically limited to second gear only. I was told by a mechanic that this is most likely the result of the transmissions control wiring being damaged, as it is located right underneath the area that was ripped out during the theft. It could also be the oxygen sensor providing out of range data. I do not have time to fix this as the car must be gone by the end of the week, but if you want to come inspect it feel free to do so. That being said, the vehicle is still drivable, but it is slow to accelerate and I have not taken it over 45 mph since this mode was activated. Besides that issue the only other issues with the car are a few scratches and marks here and there (see pictures), weak A/C, a broken hood release (you have to fiddle a bit once you pop the hood to open it), and some stains on the rear seat upholstery (see pics). I am more than willing to work with a vehicle shipper or a local buyer. $100 paypal deposit due within 24 hours of auction end, payment in cash, paypal, money order accepted. I also have an additional 4 (counting spare) alloy rims and tires for the car.
