Selling our Passat GLX AWD Wagon. We bought it with 17k miles, and have replaced it with a 7 passenger vehicle. Very well maintained and cared for by a non-smoking, no pets family. PERFECT CAR FOR A TEENAGER or small family!!!! ABS Brakes AWD all the time, multiple airbags, solidly built, good on gas, and great stereo! Add the optional snow tires (see below) and have the perfect winter car! The car is loaded with every option available in 2002 except the W8 engine: · 2.8 V6 rated at 190 horsepower, and rated for 28 mpg hwy and 20 in town. We get about 24.5 mpg combined. · Tiptronic transmission can be shifted manually or automatically as desired. · Sunroof, roof rack, retractable cargo cover, cargo area floor liner, OEM mud flaps, and OEM all weather floor mats included. · Multi-speaker "Monsoon" stereo with beautiful sound. AM/FM/Cassette/CD Changer. iPod adaptor available if desired (I have it, just never installed it, it is an "Icelink" version). · Black leather seats, with power, heated in front. Maintenance: · Oil changed on schedule with Mobil One synthetic. No oil burn noted. · Timing belt, water pump, and rollers professionally done at recommended 108k miles · Tires replaced in July of 2008 at 88k miles, they are at about 50% tread. They are General Altimax, which are more highly rated than the Michelin MXV4 Energy that they replaced (according to TireRack). Plus I have 4 custom rims with Michelin Arctic Alpin studless snow tires (also about 50% tread) available for an additional $400 to the buyer at pick-up, or I’ll sell them separately later. (see pictures). · Brakes are new at 115K, new rotors and ceramic pads all the way around. · New passenger side catalytic converter and O2 sensors at 115k. · Passed inspection in July with flying colors. · All power windows/locks/roof/seats/air conditioning work perfectly Issues (all minor, NOTHING major): · The “home link” garage door opener in the driver sun visor is broken. · Neither ash tray lock is working….the front one wants to spring closed, but we only use it to charge cell phone where the charger holds the door open when in use. The back one wants to spring open. Plus we can’t find the lighter for the front….as I said we are non-smokers. · Two small door dingers on the right aft door…you can barely see them in the pictures. One dinger on the rear bumper from a parking lot post – it cracked the paint a little (see pictures) but left no noticeable dent. Front plastic grill was cracked from the day we bought it, but it has never bothered. A close inspection would show a few other scratches and blemishes typical of an 8 year old car. · Missing the VW badge on the motor. It is a very solid car – would love to keep it but with 4 cars and two drivers, it has to go. Value: There is one for sale in Alexandra VA by a dealer for $5995 with 100k miles. Edmunds True Market Value gives the following for the car, using the range of “clean” to “outstanding” condition and 116k miles: Clean Outstanding Trade-in: $4421 $5033 Private Party $5636 $6368 Retail $6827 $7722 I put the fair value of this car between $5000 and $6000. I am starting the bidding low with a $4500 reserve that could be lowered if needed to get the car down the road. Above $4500, it will go to the highest bidder and if you get it below $5000 you would be getting quite a bargain. A $5000 buy it now is available if you want to avoid drama, but I think it disappears if bidding exceeds the reserve. TERMS: $200 non-refundable deposit required within 48 hours of the auction end, paypal or cash in person only. If you come look at it and don’t want it NO PROBLEM BUT I KEEP THE DEPOSIT (with positive feedback for you) for my trouble. Balance required in 10 days, cash, cashiers check from a national bank preferred, no personal checks. Decide on the iPod adaptor (free) and the snow tires ($400 negotiable) at pick up. Pick-up near Palmyra VA (20 miles SE of Charlotteville, 45 miles W of Richmond), or I can meet you in Richmond or Charlottesville to accept vehicle.
