Vehicle Detail

This 4Runner has been taken care of. I have an impressive collection of maintenance records since it was new. It's a 3-owner truck (that I am aware of--I've met the other two. eBay says three--I don't think so), and we've all been good to it. The motor has synthetic in it right now. It has a number of simple deficiencies--it's a 25-year-old truck. Point to remember is, it's a working, driving 4-wheel-drive Toyota. Steering wheel cover does not come with truck. First the great news: the motor was rebuilt just over 30,000 miles ago (32,474). THE FRAME AND BODY ARE TOTALLY STRAIGHT. Front bumper is slightly canted due to a mild error in a driveway (photo). The first owner who had it until @ 2001 was an engineer and was anal about maintenance, hence the records. The second owner had it for about two years and sold it to me so his wife would let him buy a Harley. The truck has been cared for. I parked this truck nearly a year ago because it needs a rear axle seal replaced (driver's side). It will drive fine, I just have another truck and didn't want to put the wear and tear on it. Until that time I drove it every day until I had the rear brakes done and discovered the seal. The stickers are out. I put a new battery in it on the 1st of August and she cranks right over. Understand, this truck is not a hauling ass machine, and it has never been treated that way. If you're in a hurry, you better find some other way to get there. The truck has always been treated delicately and it should continue to be. I've taken it up those hills on I-10 to Kerrville many times. She'll do it, just humbly. I used to drive it nearly to junction once a week. Following is a list of what's not exactly right: *Transmission doesn't always shift down to first by itself when stopped. Done it for years. No problem. Just shift down then to second manually. Works every time and has not gotten worse in six years. *Needs rear bumper if you want to haul. Has electrical harness for towing. *Windshield squirters need a motor to spray windshield. *Rear wiper removed, motor out. *Driver's seat denim upholstery torn (see photo). *Rear passenger side has holes in denim upholstery (see photo). *Slight leak where luggage rack attaches. You can pull the rack and just hit the screw-hole with silicon. *Two cracks in passenger side dashboard. Not too bad. *Plastic trim inside is brittle. *Paint top of cab flaked off, size almost of a football. *Occasionally the dash lights flicker. *Slow leak on power steering. About 18 months ago somebody backed into the driver's side door while it was parked. Their insurance paid and the work was done at Ken Bachelor. They cut new skin for the door and matched the paint. I also had the stickers done on both sides. If you don't keep it waxed it will oxidize where the old paint is and won't match. If you do wax it you don't notice the repaint, at a glance. You have to really look at it. If I've forgotten something and remember I'll add it. I will not misrepresent the condition of this truck. I don't need to. I have a 100% satisfaction rating and I intend to keep it that way. I'll admit all deficiencies. And, it's a good little truck. This was to be my beach/hunting truck for a long time to come, I just got real sick and need the money. I'm sorry to see it go. Put stickers on this truck and it can be a daily driver immediately. Just get the axle seal done soon. If you need a truck for your lease/farm/ranch--it'll be perfect. I'll meet you on request if you want to see it. Call me at 210-877-2885. I'll sell to the first solid offer I get over what I'm asking. These trucks are hard to come by and I expect to get a fair price. Worst case, I'll take the best offer when this auction process is finished. Maintain it and it'll go 500,000 easy.
