Vehicle Detail

For sale is a 1940 Chrysler Windsor in running and driving condition. Car is 99% complete and fully ready to be restored. Runs, dirves, stops, steers, all lights work, wipers work, brakes good (rebuilt wheel cylinders and new shoes), upgraded to alternator and 12V for reliability and drivability, engine flushed and freeze plugs replaced. New tuneup parts, fuel pump, thermostat and radiator hoses. Interior is in rough shape, body needs restoration but there are NO areas of rot other than the usual surface rust. 100% structurally sound, even under carpets, in trunk, and the battery box. Running boards are not rusted (again other than surface rust) but the mats are in bad shape. Upholstery is all intact but needs replacement, including headliner, all doorskins, and carpets. Glass is in bad shape, all panes are delaminating and some are cracked, but it is all flat glass and it is all intact for use as a pattern. Only curved glass on whole car is back window, which is actually in good shape. Stainless and chrome trim are all intact. Stainless in very good shape with minor defects. Chrome is badly pitted and will need to be redone for a show-quality restoration. Bumpers currently painted silver. Has the straight-six engine that runs well (see attached video) but smokes when cold, probably due to valve stem seals. Transmission is a 3-speed on the column that shifts well and is very driveable. Car has a clear title and currently has Pennsylvania antique tags requiring no inspections or registrations. Driven regularly. Some parts included - rebuilt working generator and regulator, 1940 shop manual, a couple other miscellaneous parts. Auction length is set for ten days to allow for financing. 50% deposit required by certified check or money order within 3 days of auction end, balance due at delivery. NO PAYPAL. Car runs and drives however buyer understands they are bidding on a 70-year old vehicle and NO guarantees are made and buyer operates vehicle at his/her own risk. Not recommended for you to fly in and drive home - vehicle is fully operational but probably not the best choice for a long road trip.On Aug-19-10 at 10:45:35 PDT, seller added the following information: NEW LONGER VIDEO: http://www.vidiLife.com/video_play_1899549_1940_Chrysler_Windsor_for_sale.htm?tc=1038527
