For Sale with NO RESERVE: 1970 Ranchero GT 429 CJ Ram Air with Hideaway Headlights PLUS PARTS. This is a true “J” code Ranchero. Unfortunately, the original engine was replaced. This Ranchero was ordered with special paint from Ford. I have the build sheet and a Marti Report. It is one of 75 Ranchero GT’s with a 429 Cobra Jet Ram Air engine. It is one of 22 with the paint and trim codes and one of 54 with the Special Paint Code. There is evidence that it was purple. The paint is currently 1994 Thunderbird Pearlescent Blue. It is in need of restoration, but I use it as a daily driver. I bought the Ranchero in May, 2006 with the hopes of restoring it. I really love the way the 1970 and 1971 Rancheros look, especially with the Hideaway headlights. I proceeded to collect parts (see the list below WHICH ARE A PART OF THIS AUCTION and photos on Photobucket) paying over $20,000 (not including the price of the Ranchero itself). It sat for some time. Then, in June of 2008, I rebuilt the transmission and in January, 2010, I rebuilt the front end started driving it. I have put over 2000 miles on it. I am forced to sell the Ranchero because of a large tax bill. There is a seperate 429 CJ engine (D0VE-A Date code 9F24 June 24, 1969) and two sets of Cobra Jet heads (D0OE-R Date code 9G31 – July 31, 1969 and 9H4 – August 4, 1969 and 9J19 – September 19, 1969 and 9J30 – September 30, 1969) that go with the Ranchero along with many parts including FOUR Hideaway Headlight housings (See Pictures) Part number D0OZ-13099-B – three of them are either NOS (two in original box) or near NOS condition, the other has been repaired by an amateur, five sets of Hideaway headlight doors in various condition. A rebuilt Rochester Quadra Jet Carb, part number 7040288-1182, a rebuilt Distributor and many smaller parts. Buyer is responsible for crating and shipping the parts and the Ranchero. I believe it is a 429. There is a 429 CJ block that goes with the truck as listed. I have added 54 new pictures of the undercarriage on Photobucket (the link is in the listing) showing all the rust, dents, armature repair job, fuel tank, tranny with numbers, front end, rear end (which shows the "N" code on the case) and rear springs. Please look at the pictures carefully. As I stated in the listing, this Ranchero needs to be restored. It is a daily driver, and it shows.
