I purchased this VW in June from Connecticut on eBay. The listing stated: “Daily driver, runs excellent, new clutch, new battery, black interior, very good condition, rip on back bottom seat, new tires, glass all good, solid pan, solid heater channels, older re-paint, 100% turn-key and have title.” … “Vehicle is road worthy.” I found this not to be true. I found the brakes very poor, the tires are out of balance, valve covers leaking oil, rust holes in the left front body panel and the heater channel, rusted area in right front body panel, rust holes under the right rear window. The car is not a “daily driver....100% turn-key”. I trusted the seller about the condition and was mislead. I was able to drive it 700 miles at 60 mph to Ohio with no noticeable oil usage but with several stops to work on brakes – sticking cylinders. The VW got excellent fuel mileage. The steering gear is good, tires new, new battery, new “009” distributor, new muffler, new rear shocks, new starter. I replaced the leaking valve cover gaskets and repaired the bottom, right engine cooling tin. The car needs work! Needs heater control cables. With brakes, it would be drivable. You could drive it now but it would be safer to haul it. I bought another VW and had it transported. I know a good and reasonable auto transport company.
