Vehicle Detail
1971 Plymouth Road Runner. True Road Runner. Originally 383/727 Rallye Red with black interior, bucket seat console car. No fender tag. Now lime green with black interior. Pro Street set up with 600+ hp 440 dual quad tunnel ram with 727 transmission and 8 3/4 rear. Tubbed and narrowed. Mickey Thompsons all around w/ 33x21.5x15 steam rollers out back and 8 ply narrows up front on Weld wheels. Leaf spring set up. Car was originally done about 20 years ago. I purchased about 5 years ago and proceeded to completely redo less the paint and body. Body and paint was extremely good. Little filler around rear wheel wells. Rust through holes at rear of lower door rockers which was planned for correct repair after roll bar was welded in. Been looking for aftermarket rockers with out success. No other rust anywhere. Very solid car with no other repairs. Never got her to the strip which was my intention. I had a fire this past Christmas where my diesel pickup engine block heater shorted, caught fire and then caught my finished & heated garage home to my Road Runner on fire. Attic only. Car was not burned but was in an oven. Car sat in a wet state for 4 weeks during cause and origin. I recovered from insurance but have determined I do not have the means to totally strip this car down. Needs a new home. Car was totalled but insurance company agreed to not reclassify as a salvage title. So standard, clear title. Please review the before and after pictures. I was a couple weekends from firing this girl up after 4 and 1/2 years of work. Way too many new parts and mods to list. Some key items and almost everything new: No damage what so ever to drive train..... 71 440 with Weiand tunnel ram, Holley 600 cfm endura finish carbs, deep sump 8 qt. Moroso oil pan with windage tray. Specs of engine unknown as previous owner could not provide details. Solid lifter big cam. Ran Cam2 racing fuel. Ran very good on the street. Schumacher torque strap, mini high torque starter, Hooker Super Comp 2 7/8 to 3 collector long tube ceramic coated headers, custom piping to Super 40 mufflers. All new engine mounts. 727 with 2 quart Hughes aluminum deep pan, shift kit, reverse pattern. Moroso aluminum high flow water pump and thermostat. Remote battery and fuel cell. NOS radio delete dash and heater delete bezel (not factory to this car) with new custom gauge set up containing AutoMeter Phantom gauges. Lower front end rebuild with HD components. Have remaining upper components as I planned to remove upper A arms and replace all bushings, media blast & paint. Upgraded HD stabilizer bar, torsions bars. No frame connectors, fabricated and ready for install but removed by insurance recovery. Manual brakes, drums front and rear. Power steering. All interior components included (door panels acquired are near perfect), new carpet and pad included. New Pro-Car Scat leather seats and adapters. Aftermarket HD rear window louvers. Way too many parts to list included. Sorry no radio/sound system in this car. Car was monochrome when purchased. Bumpers, door handles, remote mirrors all striped of paint and rechromed. All missing or body painted trim cleaned and accounted for and included (drip rail, wheel well, windshield, side windows, rear window and rocker moldings) Interior was not in car at time of fire. I have all components including perfect console. I have complete hand fabricated 6 point roll bar in car ready for clean up and welding. Set of expired but new 5 point Simpson harnesses included. Good for street. Most all electrical components and plumbing which were brand new; fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel cell, battery box, remote battery disconnect, alternator, horn, headlights, etc. removed and disposed of due to risks associated with water damages. March serpentine pulley setup (over 1K investment), 10K rpm flex fan have been removed and disposed of. Custom aluminum radiator included. Please review pictures and ask questions. Hard to part with this car. Very unique. No expense spared on my part. Please review my feedback rating and bid with confidence. Additonal pictures are available upon request.
