Up for sale is our 99 GMC Suburban 4x4 SLT. It has front and rear heat and air conditioning, leather interior, and both front seats are powered. The push button 4x4 works great and it always started last winter here in north central Iowa. For it's age, 11 years old, the body and interior are in pretty good condition. There are a few areas with cracks in the leather seats and the usual scratches on the body panels. Now for the bad news.The engine started running rough a couple of weeks ago and I had a repair shop look into the problem. They put an inspection scope into the engine and found that the exhaust valve on cylinder #3 slapped the piston. The vehicle does run and I moved it from their repair facility to a new location so I wouldn't have to pay a storage fee. I would not drive it very far in it's current condition as the engine might fail while driving. Now for the good news. I had the current engine installed in February and it has a one year unlimited mileage warrantee. If you purchase the vehicle I will help you to get another engine to the best of my abilities. The repair shop did not find any lack of oil or other problems caused by negligence. I can't guarantee that they won't find a loophole with replacing the engine, but I was told by the company that I purchased the engine from that The engine would need to be pulled, the fluids drained, and the engine crated for them to pickup the engine at their expense. Then if they find that everything looks OK they will ship another engine free of charge. Then you would have to pay for the engine to be installed. Also the front end will need to be aligned as the vehicle started to pull to the right slightly. The only other thing wrong that I know of is the rear passenger interior door handle is hanging. I was told by the repair shop that the interior handle is attached to the exterior handle by a small wire rod. They said that this rod is not strong enough for the application and it will need to be replaced. This vehicle is 11 years old and has 180K miles on the odometer. It is being sold as-is with no warranty.
