1980 Honda CR

Very nice 1980 Honda CR250 Elsinore. I have raced this bike in vintage racing for the past 4 years and it has been extremely well maintained. Bike runs great and handles great with excellent suspension upgrades. Each winter the engine was removed and professionally gone through and the result has been a very reliable, competitive vintage racer. A few key items to highlight: Engine professionally rebuilt completely each season (whether is needed it or not!). All plastic in excellent condition (except the front number plate which is solid but faded - probably original) Professionally restored original plastic tank with high quality perforated graphics Magura forged aluminum clutch and brake levers Just updated forks with Race Tech emulators and new springs Works Performance rear shocks Excel rims Powder coated frame and engine Aftermarket custom built pipe from Vintage Iron - greatly improves top-end with no loss to bottom end torque Bike comes with new seat foam, new seat cover, original manual, throttle cable and back-up stator The bike also has a good set of Michelin tires that still have riding time left. As far as any negatives are concerned, there are a couple of minor things. First, the top air box mount needs to be re-welded. It broke and I just haven't fixed it yet. Also, there is a small crack in the bottom of one of the casings that I just put jb weld on and that has worked. It's so small you can't actually see it but it did leak some oil so I took are of it with jb weld. The rear brake cam is worn. It works fine, but it does have a fair amount of play - pretty common among these older bikes. As I said, the bike has been very well maintained - it got whatever it needed - and it was very nice when I bought it 4 years ago. I never titled the bike in Iowa so it will only come with a bill of sale. This bike is sold used, as is. It is also being listed as pick-up only - sorry, no exceptions. The bike is for sale locally (although I am not advertising it) and I reserve the right to end the auction early.
