I have owned this truck since 1985, at that time it was semi-stock with a 292 V8 and 4 speed granny low trans. It currently has 4 wheel independent suspension with a 5.0 EFI with AODE trans installed. I had to rebuild the engine in 1998 after it lost the water pump, I changed too many things within the engine and the computer could not calibrate for the changes and I lost interest. I have not driven it since 2001. Up until late 1994 the truck was my daily driver, State Farm did not appreceiate the changes I made so switched to a collector insurance and it switched to a secondary pleasure vechicle. I have a clear original title and the taxes are current on it. I am the fourth owner of this truck. The following is a list showing modifications made. I am working from memory but I do have some records somewhere. 1989: Installed 302 and C4 transmission, otherwise truck still stock. 1991: Installed front clip from a 1979 Firebird (replaced all bushings and bearings), steering column from 1986 Tempo 1992: Installed ladder bar and coilover rear suspension (these mounting points are still on frame), C-notched the frame and built a box in the bed that covered the suspension. 1993: Installed 1986 5.0 fuel injected engine, kept the C4 trans, took complete wiring harness from Cougar including digial dash and install in the truck, previous steering column also worked with the harness. 1994: Cut roof off truck and welded up doors, installed hood scoop from a 1959 Thunderbird, welded in tailgate and built custom bed cover with opening rear section. 1997: Installed independent rear suspension from 1990 Thunderbird. 1998: Rebuilt engine and changed trans to AODE. I do have the hood scoop trim piece and the headlight bezels. The bed was sand blasted and painted with etching primer and then painted with the yellow poly primer you see now. There is rust on the truck but it is repairable, please keep in mind this truck is a project and not road worthy at the moment. Please feel free to ask any additional questions.
