Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my little 1956 MGA roadster. You've heard it all before.... I wanted to restore this car, its now time to move on, blah blah blah. I'm determined to not be one of those guys who lets their stuff sit around and disintegrate while they swear they'll someday get around to all of their projects. This car needs to go to a better home, as it is still a really excellent candidate for proper restoration. I bought it as a barn find out of Alabama. It has not been on the road in 25 years but the previous owner regularly started it up. I last had the engine running in early May. The engine runs with great oil pressure- 40 psi cold, 60 psi after a 45 minute idle. The original SU carbruetors are missing about $50 in linkage components. The frame looks very solid, as does the sheet metal (some bondo in the rockers and two no-brainer dents in the rear driver fender and rear valance). The brakes are locked up and I assume it needs all hydraulics. The interior is rough but there. The upholstery is an embarrassment but the seat frames are ok. Nice, refinishable teak dash. I have all of the aluminum cockpit rail elbows you don't see in the images. It has side curtains and a crappy top (it keeps the weather out but the windows are yellowed). I just installed a new (used) windshield and frame complete with gasket and proper hardware. OK now for the disclaimers: 1) I am being as honest as possible as to its condition. Anyone who knows these cars realizes there could be hidden rust somewhere that I have not found; 2) It would be wise to see the car for yourself prior to bidding. We all know the pictures don't say everything; 3) If you are the winning bidder, I expect you to follow through. This includes a PayPal deposit within 24 hours of the auction closing, and the balance due within 7 days. If you scumbag on me, suffer the wrath of my feedback rating. You won't be able to buy so much as a used Barbie doll on this site when I'm done with you; 4) The car is for sale locally, so I reserve the right to cancel this listing at any time. Call Steven at 518 796 9324 any time, or email via this site. I will answer all questions promptly, and encourage pre-bid inspection.
