This 1996 VW Passat TDI is for sale by the original owner. It has been carefully maintained over the years and has always delivered 46-48 miles per gallon during the summer, 44 mpg during the winter. It is in good condition with very little rust on body. Recent maintenance includes timing belt (158,000 miles), 4 shocks, starter, brakes, and recent oil change. This vehicle runs well and very comfortable. The tires are all in good shape with lots of tread left. The air conditioner has leaks and there are a couple small 1 inch scratches on passenger door and top of trunk. I removed the cup holder for leg room and the plastic ash tray in rear is broken. Other than these things, there is very little else that needs attention. For someone who wishes to own an authentic Passat TDI, this car will give you years of service and driving pleasure. We have already replaced this diesel with a Mercedes Sprinter RV van. Time to sell the VW. Successful bidder must send $500 deposit within 2 days and the remaining amount within 5 days from end of auction. Buyer must arrange for pickup and transport within a week of the end of auction. This car is fully inspected, licensed and capable of being driven away using your license plates. I am still using this car so mileage may slightly differ from picture in ad. Right now it has 160,272 miles.
