Have owned this 74 VW Super Beetle for over 5 years after it had been completely restored through-out. Prior to buying it, I looked all over the country in E-Bay and Cars.com...almost bought a couple, but didn't want to settle. I bought this one because it was the very best around for less than 14K....according to 'car people' I met, the 74' Model was the best year to purchase. I have driven it 11K since I bought it...primarily to the beach and on errands around town in San Diego. It has been garaged and sometimes I don't drive it for a couple weeks or more....never driven in rain. It always starts right up and I have had no problems with it. I replaced the radio and speakers in the front doors. I am not a Mechanic, bought the car for fun and have enjoyed it...is original in appearance, excellent paint, very nice interior, headliner etc....the steering wheel is not original...I like it better. There is a small chip on the paint in a couple places, hardly noticeable. It is in excellent condition, not perfect, but about an 8.5+ out of 10. It has no rust or issues with same. The fellow I bought it from (the restorer)said it was one of the best under cariages he had seen. The interior has been all redone....carpets, seats, headliner etc. He also replaced all the windows. The 74' is the last year with carburetor...apparently a very desirable year because of that. Car is better in person than in pictures.
