1983 BMW R65, low miles, great looking, classic airhead - a strong runner! listing for a friend of mine in my riding club who is not an ebayerhe is an elderly gent and although he loves the bike and it breaks his heart to sell, but he has decided that it is time to "trike" starts easily and runs strong, carbs recently gone over, clutch, brakes and steering feel great, front rotor a bit scored from the past but brakes well bedded into it low miles, only 37,346 miles, barely broken in for a boxer twin ! has the hard to find OEM crash bars, also has factory panniers, aftermarket throttle lockaftermarket Progressive shocks in the rear address the weak OEM rear suspension problem snowflake wheels in great shape, front tire has a slight bead leak but I will try and get that taken care of before auction endspaint in spectacular shape for the year, no rips in seat, pipes solid and chrome shiny, good fork seals, all electrics work great includes a small color matched (few scratches) Vetter Quicksilver fairing with mount and a tall shield, although for me Vetter is a synonym for "ugly", this small fairing actually looks good on the bike and would be a nice addition for a long tour, longer handlebars for use with this fairing are also included, as is a box of misc R65 parts slight oil weep at push rod seals, but bike doesn't mark its spot like a dog right bag has fallen off once on the road and shows the scratches expected from this and one repaired crack, the right bag also has a newer type bike-attachment latch with no lock core, so it latches to the bike but doesn't lock to it (see pics in smugmug gallery) all factory manuals and tool kit included, including rare parts and service manuals for the R65, he even has the manual and mounting instructions Vetter ! all in all, a well maintained classic airhead, both cosmetically and mechanically clean Illinois title in hand prefer pickup of bike in central Illinois, but i can ship this bike - email me for an estimate Here are a bunch more pics, including pics of the few flaws:http://kwc.smugmug.com/Other/R65/13246043_ogA85#961809459_LCZTV On Jun-09-10 at 18:17:13 PDT, seller added the following information: **** for those who have asked, the bike has always been dealer serviced and HAS had the full 12k service, all recalls are up to date ******** the battery is an Odyssey sealed unit and was put in in 2008 **** On Jun-13-10 at 09:38:07 PDT, seller added the following information: ***** my mistake, the CD player is a single CD, not a 6-CD changer, I thought it was like the K1200LT***** On Aug-09-10 at 06:50:09 PDT, seller added the following information: *****ignore the crap at the bottom about 12k service, cd players, and odyssey batteries*****it was crap from another old listing of mine that I used as a template and does not relate to the R65****On Aug-13-10 at 07:49:35 PDT, seller added the following information: ++++++NEW battery today and fixed the leak in the front tire++++++++
