Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 1957 Nash Metropolitan. It’s all original equipment and sometimes I can even get the radio to work. I bought the car with the intentions of giving it to my father for a daily driver. He was driving an MG midget which I managed to roll and this Nash was its replacement. I bought the car and started to get it road ready when someone gave my father a free car. Neither one of us have a need for the little Met now and thus it’s for sale. I have an MG rear that comes with the car and enables highway traveling (came with the car when I bought it). I could be talked into swaping out the rear ends for you for a fee. Everything seems to be in good working order except the generator which I am removing and taking to the generator shop tomorrow and will be in working order for the sale. The body is solid as is the underside of the car. The little 4 banger purrs like a kitten (really) and the transmission and clutch operate smoothly. I will note that the shifting arm moves a little loosely but it might just be a Met thing as it works very well. The stainless trim is in good shape, the chrome bumpers and grill are driver quality. The paint is very presentable for a nice driver car, might get prizes at local shows but wouldn’t get near a 100 point show. The interior is also a good driver quality, it looks very presentable with no rips or tears but I wouldn’t be afraid to take my lunch on the road. The headliner is in good shape too. Tires are at 98% or better and were just put on the car before I bought it. The spare tire cover is a funny color, I thought it was rust in the pictures when I bought the car but it isn’t. The front shocks look very new as well, haven’t looked at the rear. All the glass is good, no fogging or cracking. There are a few tools that come with the car. I can deliver the car for a fee but get a quote first as many of the haulers can beat my price anyway. Sold as is where is. The car won’t leave my property until it’s fully paid for and funds are clear. No trigger happy bidders please. If you have any questions or would like to see the car in person feel free to ask, I tried to think of everything. See my other auctions: MG Midget and 1939 Ford Pickup truck. Happy bidding!
