OUT OF THE 6,508 CONVERTIBLE CORVETTES SOLD IN 1972, ONLY A FEW HUNDRED WERE SOLD WITH THE LS5 ENGINE OPTION. ADD FACTORY AIR CONDITIONING, POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKES, DELUXE LEATHER INTERIOR AND TILT/TELE STEERING COLUMN AND YOU HAVE A VERY EXPENSIVE 1972 CORVETTE WHEN DELIVERED NEW. I CALCULATE COST NEW WAS $6639. THE AIR INJECTION REACTOR (AIR) FOR THE CSS ENGINE SUFFIX IS EVEN RARER THAN THE CPJ SUFFIX. THE AIR SYSTEM IS MISSING, AS IT MAY HAVE BEEN REMOVED YEARS AGO. THE ENGINE NUMBER IS T0327CSS 12S517911, BLOCK CAST 3999289, CAST DATE B 29 2. THE CSS SUFFIX INDICATES AIR INJECTION REACTOR SMOG EQUIPMENT FOR THE LS5 WITH C60 OPTIONS. VEHICLE WAS ASSEMBLED TUESDAY, APRIL 4, 1972. THE ENGINE WAS COMPLETELY REBUILT AND IS VERY FAST, AND RUNS ON PREMIUM UNLEADED. IT HAS THE CORRECT CYLINDRICAL EXPANSION TANK FOR THE LS5 C60 OPTIONED VEHICLE. EXHAUST IS NEW AND ALUMINIZED. SPARE TIRE CARRIER WITH LOCK IS INTACT WITH SPARE TIRE INSIDE. THE FRAME IS EXCELLENT AT THE KICKUPS AND MUCH OF THE FRAME HAS THE ORIGINAL BLACK TAR PAINT. TRIM TAG IN DOOR JAMB HAS BUILD DATE I04, TRIM 404, PAINT 988. DEFINITELY AN OPPORTUNITY HERE FOR A SCARCE WELL OPTIONED DESIRABLE CHROME BUMPERED CORVETTE CONVERTIBLE. THE 67W IN THE VIN IS THE FIRST PART, AND CSS ENGINE SUFFIX IS THE SECOND PART. READY TO DRIVE AND ENJOY, OR PREPARE FOR PURIST CONCOURS JUDGING. THE CAR WAS DRIVEN 30 MILES EACH WAY TO THE MEET BY ME. THE CERTIFICATE AND RIBBON ARE INCLUDED WITH THE CAR. MOST POINTS LOST WERE FOR AGING OF ORIGINAL PARTS,SOME ITEMS THAT DID NOT WORK, SUCH AS THE DOOR AJAR SWITCH AND WINDSHIELD WASHERS, AND REPLACED HARDWARE FOR MAINTENANCE ITEMS, SUCH AS BUT NOT LIMITED TO TIRES, BATTERY, BATTERY CABLES, RADIATOR, EXHAUST, SEAT COVERS, DOOR AND KICK PANELS, CARPET, AND CARBURETOR. THE CYLINDER CASE AND CONVERTIBLE TOP WERE BOTH JUDGED AS ORIGINAL TO THE CAR. THERE IS NO JACK,JACK HANDLE, HOLD DOWN SPRING, OR OWNER'S MANUAL PACKET.
