Vehicle Detail

Vehicle is a 1959 Lincoln Continental Mark IV that I purchased from the original owner seven years ago. I had a vision when I purchased it, to create a "California Roadster," rat rod style, which I completed a year ago. I spent six months meticulously crafting it. I completely stripped the vehicle down to the bare unibody chassis and welded it securely to a custom jig in order to keep everything true and straight. Upon that, I sand blasted everything. Then I started cutting, fabricating and molding the new vehicle. The floor board was cut out and rebuilt with extra reinforcements, since the top was getting removed. A custom roll bar / windshield frame was fabricated. The doors were gutted and capped along with shaving the handles. Along with boxing in the unibody for structural reasons I created steel ground effects for structural and visual purposes. A custom dashboard was created. Upon that the body was panel sealed with 3M product, epoxy primered and blocked, then sealed with PPG Epoxy Sealer. The entire bottom was under coated. The entire interior floor board, firewall and trunk has been shot with Durabak Liner. A Late model GM tilt wheel steering column was modified and installed. The drive train consists of: Big Block Ford 460ci motor with Edelbrock 750cfm carb. New aluminum radiator. Ford C6 Automatic transmission w/ external cooler. Dana 60 rear end. 33,000 miles on the drive train. Power steering and brakes. The vehicle has been fitted with air ride suspension for height adjustability and improved ride: Air Bags on all four corners with a solid compressor and tank managed by a manifold system and control box. The vehicle was completely rewired utilizing a new fuse box and switches. Gas Tank was rotted out and sealed. A mechanical and in line electronic fuel pump is on the vehicle. All new brakes (power booster/cylinder, slave cylinders, shoes, springs and lines). The dash and door interiors was constructed of Oak veneer. Nothing was overlooked or left untouched except for the upholstery on the front and rear seats and re-chroming of the bumpers. The vehicle is ready for paint color of your choice or can be left as is (rat rod style) as it has been properly sealed with a quality PPG product. The vehicle runs and drives great! All components work flawlessly. It was built to last! There is no top! It is a fair weather vehicle, although it has working windshield wipers. The car is huge. It's 19.5 feet long and seats 7 people comfortably. The trunk is also huge; I can fit my surfboards in it. The only attention that I would bring to the vehicle's needs are: Upholstery of the seats, re-chrome the bumpers, new bushings in the suspension. I don't want to sell it and said that I never would, but life throws you curve balls sometimes and you have to make sacrifices. I built the vehicle in a dry California climate and then shipped it out to Hawaii last year. I drive it once a month and is kept in the garage. This vehicle GETS A LOT OF ATTENTION! Buyer to pay for shipping. Depending on the final price I could possibly assist with funding of the shipping. *Shipping from Hawaii to West Coast Mainland is $1k. This vehicle is posted for sale locally and reserve the right to end the auction early upon a local transaction taking place. Happy Bidding!
