Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE The vehicle was restored in Denver Colorado where it’s now located. The engine transmission and electrical system have been upgraded to a 1600cc 12 volt. It was restored as closely as possible to the original condition. It is Colorado registered, licensed, insured and fully functional. I store it in an attached garage and drive it a few miles per week. The vehicle was taken apart during, the axle, rods and arms have all been removed and either replaced or sand blasted and painted. Steel inserts were welded into the frame to provide additional support for the upgraded engine and transmission. The vehicle does have a couple minor issues; the spare tire is missing, the hubcaps were ordered for the wrong year and don’t fit, the odometer occasionally gets noisy when traveling over 60 mph, the passenger rear ash tray is missing and there is a minor towing dent in the rear bumper. The rest of the vehicle is in excellent working order. The gauges are original equipment including the amp meter in the center dash above the stereo. The 6 volt amp meter was not reconnected to the updated electrical system, it was left in place. The original engine was replaced with engine number B 5546 AD-0349436. It is a 1971 12 volt engine (50bhpDIN 65bhpSAE 1600). The 12 volt battery has a plastic cover over the positive side and the seat is rigged so that the coils aren’t close to the battery. The remaining electrical system has been upgraded to a 12 volt: generator to alternator, starter, carburetor, coil signal flasher, headlight relay, horn, wiper motor, exterior and interior bulbs. The transmission and gas shocks and fuel tank have also been updated. It runs great without any problems. I wouldn’t hesitate to take it on long trips if the weather is expected to be fair. The heat exchanger works as well as it’s supposed to. There are no oil leaks, transmission or engine problems.
