Vehicle Detail
My husband is selling this 1966 short bed that could be a driver or restoration vehicle. This is a fairly solid truck that he has had for about a year. It doesn't have any signs of being wrecked and the frame is solid. The body is definitely restorable. It has a small rust hole on the lower corner of the driver's door, and the bed has some rust issues that you can see in the pictures. Also, there is a small amount of filler on the passenger side, lower corner, of the front of the bed. The small amount of filler work that has been done, was by a previous owner but my husband peeled out some of the filler where it has came loose and it is solid behind it. These areas are NOT rust holes. This is not a rusty truck, it is solid (except for the floor of the truck bed- see picture). The hood hinge on the passenger side needs to be replaced. The interior, for the most part, is the standard 6 cylinder package except for the following changes: a radio was put in but it is not hooked up and he doesn't know if it works. It looks like the column has been replaced with what he believes would be a 1973 column. The seat looks like it was recovered many years ago. See the pictures. The truck originally came with a 6 cylinder motor but it now has a 289 V8 with a 3 speed transmission with a shifter in the floor. It came with manual stirring and brakes. It has a 3 core radiator. Axel size is unknown. He has drove the truck for a while and keeps having problems with the regulator. This is the only problem keeping the truck off the road that he knows of. A local alternator repair shop said they could fix it in a couple of hours, but my husband said in his opinion, he feels like it needs a complete wiring harness from front to back and we don't have the money to put into it right now. He said that the shortage could be fixed and you could drive it "as is", but to really make it right he feels like it does need a complete harness. This truck has a bill of sale. We require a deposit of $500.00 (in US currency)(that will be non-refundable) within 24 hours of the auction end. The final payment is required within 7 days of the end of the auction. It will be the responsibility of the buyer to pick up or ship the truck. If you have any questions, we will be happy to answer any emails. We hope this is the truck you have been looking for and we hope you enjoy it. Happy bidding and have a blessed day!!
