Vehicle Detail
1995 Porsche 968 Cabriolet 6 speed manual Rare Car! Thankyou for viewing my auction. You are looking at a 1995 Porsche 968 Cabriolet. This 968 has a 6 speed manual transmission and a limited slip differential. The 968 was produced from 1992-1995, in 1995 a total of 662 coupes and cabriolets were imported to the US, this 968 is a very rare hard to find car! The engine is a 3.0L DOHC 4 cylinder VarioCam(variable valve timing) rated at 236HP, astonishing power for a N/A 4 cylinder even by today's standards. No other production automobile has ever had a larger displaced 4 cylinder engine than the Porsche 944 S2, and 968. The color is Black with tan and a black convertible top. The mileage is 148,800 and this Porsche runs top notch. I have service records with this car, and have 3 timing belt reciepts, the last showing the belt replaced at 137,000 in 2002. The previous owner is a automotive tech, and told me he did the belt right after he bought the car in 2008. I have a reciept for a new convertible top for $1,100 1 year ago, it is in great shape, no tares, and the rear plastic window is like new, no yellowing. The car runs 100%. The A/C blows cold. The headlights operate fine with no fuss. All interior lights work. I have been driving this car since Sunday everyday with no problems! The car drives straight, no pulling, the steering wheel is straight at 80 MPH. The coolant guage stays right in the middle as it should, even with the A/C on full blast sitting in traffic in 95 degree heat. The tires are in decent shape all around and have plently of life. The inspection sticker is good untill 2012, this car passed right through with ease! Some things to note about this 968. There is cracking on the dash, this is very common for these cars (see pictures). The Convertible top is currently not working electronically. When you hit the switch you can hear the motor working however the top does not move. The cabel needs to be replaced for the top (not that bad of a repair). I personally think it is easier and faster to open and close it manually, up and down in 2 seconds! There are seat covers currently over the seats. I have not even taken them off, they look nice and fit like factory. I am sure the seats are a bit rough under there. The hood has a little dent around the emblem, can easily be fixed. The clearcoat on the hood is fading a bit, as well as the top of the front fenders. The rear decklid has some waterspots stuck in the clearcoat (looks like the car had a carcover over it and waterdrops sat on the paint for a while). Overall you have a very good car here. The engine is very strong running and doesn't miss a beat. The clutch is solid as a rock and the transmission shifts excellent. The car has a lot of power, you can chirp the tires into 3rd gear under acceceleration thanks to the limited slip differential! This car is a head turner, everyone thinks it is a new Porsche model because there aren't enough examples on the roads today to compare. Better than a Boxster by a long shot! 30 MPG 6 speed trans big 4 cylinder engine. You cannot buy a better convertible let alone a Porsche for under $10,000! Do not miss out on this 968 Cabriolet. This car will drive anywhere, take it to California!
