A Rock-Solid BMW K100RT with Extras No Reserve If you are looking for a cosmetically flawless 1985 K-bike, this guy is not for you. But if you are looking for a comfortable, reliable sport touring bike at a great price, look at this bike. There are dings and dents in the fairing (see photos), but this low-mileage (<44,000) K-bike starts with a touch of the iginition swirch and runs smoothly all day long. The bike had been sitting in a garage for six years when I bought it. I had extensive work done last summer including a new battery, new front tire, a full BMW annual service, new ignition switch, fully repaired instrument cluster, and other work. (Click here to see a PDF of repair bills which totalled $1514.76). It ain't pretty, but it works great! Now I need to sell it for "family" reasons. The bike has a Corbin seat, a BMW rear cargo bin, a Pelican case attached to left rear (can be removed), the original Rider's Manual from BMW, and a 700-page Clymer Shop Manual. The fairing is equipped for a radio and speakers, but the former owner removed them. There are two emergency LEDs attached to the fairing, which I can remove, but they will leave holes (I use them for ambulance response). You can keep them on, knowing that they are subject to local regulations. The 7L fuel alert on the instrument cluster has a burnt-out bulb, but the 4 Liter light works. The left snap-on panel covering the battery area has a broken plastic stud; I replaced it with a bolt, which works to hold it securely on. This is a "no reserve" auction; every bid counts.
