Vehicle Detail
I’m reluctantly putting my gorgeous 1984 Porsche 911 Targa up for sale. Finished in timeless Guards Red (Code L027; also referred to as India Red) over black leather, the car has only 73,400 original miles and is in beautiful condition. I looked at many cars before buying this one, but now I need to get a more practical car. It has always been a Southern California car, is rust free and has never been in any accidents. Consequently, the panel fits and gaps are consistent and the car is straight. The finish is beautiful and in great condition, marred only by the most minor of rock chips, nicks, etc. All of the glass and light lenses are free of cracks or rock chips and the rubber is all in great shape. The car has polished deep-dish Fuchs wheels that are absolutely perfect and wrapped in great tires with plenty of remaining tread. The car’s interior is equally as clean. The original, rare optional leather sport seats are in great shape: no tears, no holes, no loose stitching and only minimal wear. The leather wrapped dash shows some warping but it is free of cracks and the carpets are in great shape. The door panels are also in good condition and the targa top is shows no imperfections, both inside and out, with no sagging, tears or discoloration. The car has also has an in-dash CD player with great speakers. The car is mechanically sound and lives up to its legendary legacy. Starting right up with no smoke or hesitation, the car pulls strongly through each of the gears, shifting smoothly through each gear without any grinding or other synchro issues. It is an absolute joy in the canyon, the tight suspension allowing for that famous Porsche performance in the corners. I have a thick stack of service records and the car has always been looked after properly. The car received its 60k service at the renowned “Black Forest” shop in San Diego and it just had a significant service within the last 500 miles. This isn't a show car but it is a beautiful, low mileage, mechanically strong example that's going to make its new owner very, very happy. Please feel free to email me or give me a call at (805) 708-2404 if you have any additional questions or would like to make a deal. Buyers should know that I have a California dealer license but I’m not a dealer by profession and I don’t have a lot or a showroom. I’ve just always had an appreciation for classic European cars and have always bought and sold them to create a kind of very small revolving personal collection. I try to give accurate descriptions of the cars I’m selling, but I’m not an expert and I encourage and am happy to help facilitate personal or professional inspections. But please do so before bidding, as the alternative harms my ability to make sales with other interested parties who have done their proper due diligence before bidding. For U.S. buyers a 10% non-refundable deposit is required within 3 days of the auction's end, the balance to be paid within 7 days of the auction's end. Foreign buyers must pay in full within 7 business days of auction’s end. Buyer is responsible for shipping, however I'd be more than happy to help with recommendations and arrangements. The car is listed locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time should it sell prior to auction's end. Thanks for your interest.
