FOR SALE: 1978 CAMARO DRAG RACE CAR ENGINE: 400 cubic inch Chevy small block bored out to a 406. 4 bolt mains, forged crankshaft, H-beam connecting rods, SRP pistons, Comp cam (solid lift roller), Edelbrock Victor Jr. aluminum heads, Edelbrock Super Victor intake, Holley 850 cfm carburetor. The compression ration is 13:1 and the engine is tuned to Sunoco 112. Built and tuned by Al Duffy Race Engines. TCI transmission with 3500 stall converter. Trans has built-in trans brake but it is not hooked up so I could stay in the pro class. Balanced driveshaft. Moser 9” rear end comes with two complete center sections, one with 4.30 gears and the other with 5.13. Both are on spools. The car is tubbed out with a narrower rear end. It has the original leaf spring suspension with traction bars that bolt to the front shackle. Subframe connectors and a 10-point NHRA certified rollcage (received certification in 2007). The hood is a fiberglass 4” cowl induction liftoff. MSD 6AL ignition box with MSD distributor. Electric water pump and fan, aluminum radiator. Wilwood disc brakes (front and rear). Mickey Thompson tires. The slicks measure 29.5 x 13.5 x 15. Car also has a line lock. Also included is a racing jacket, neck brace, helmet, two rear ends, one full fuel jug and one empty fuel jug. Other tools and parts included. All required parts meet SFI certification. Car was tuned on a chassis dyno by Al Duffy Race Engines, and has approximately six ¼ mile runs since completion of the build. Best run was 11.20 at 123 mph. The car has many other features.
