1928 Ford Model A Roadster Hot Rod. Fun Hot Rod, for the whole family, load the kids in the Rumble seat and cruise. This is a reproduction car with a fiber-glass body, steel hood, built in 1980 by Shay and sold new through Ford dealers with full warranties in the 80’s. I have built it to be SAFE and FUN and easy to drive. It has a rumble seat in back, great fun for kids and grand kids. It has a gas sipping four cylinder engine with a modern five speed manual transmission .This car has been in our family for over twenty years, many 4th of July parades with home coming queens and girl scouts riding in the rumble seat. Engine is original 1980 Ford 2.3L Four cylinder , Less smog equipment, Ford Ranger exhaust header, otherwise it is stock, only 16,000 miles on the car and engine. The transmission is a Borg-warrner T-5 (Five Speed) out of an 88 Ford TurboCoupe with short through shifter, 8 inch Toyota truck read end with 3:54 gears and an aluminum drive shaft, Extra 3:90 Toyota ring & pinion, coil over front springs & shocks, Mustang II style front suspension with rack & Pinion steering, front and rear sway bars. 2 inch drop axels, Custom made Wheel-Vantques wire wheels run modern tubeless tires. Rear framed “C" channeled to drop rear end, shock angle reset. COOL fully louvered hot rod hood is included, painted black right now, it is shown in some of the photos, but not fitted to the car at this time. AM/FM radio, 3 inch exhaust with extra flow master muffler, Top is in great condition, rear window zips out for better air flow for hot weather cursing. Full set of side curtain windows (see photos), Heater, AM/FM Radio. 16 inch sprint car style steering wheel. The fiberglass body has a few stress cracks in the gel coat and a few nicks, nothing serious and normal for a thirty year old glass body. Original gel coat paint could be buffed out, to look better. I can send detailed photos if needed. I want to be totally up front and do not want winner to have any surprises, the body is still all stock. This car started life as a 1980 Shay Deluxe Roadster with two spare tires mounted on the front fenders. I use it as a second car and regularly commute 100 miles to San Antonio from my home, running 65-70 mph. Please ask any question you have, I will be totally up front.
