Vehicle Detail
I purchased this gorgeous 78' Bronco XLT in 2001 from the original owner with 105K miles. She drove it as a college student at Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA and eventually took it to Portland, OR. where it was stored and got very little use for many years on their beautiful horse ranch. The original owners had just begun restoration by having the 400 professionally rebuilt and having a new C6 installed at the local Ford dealership when they changed their mind and decided to sell. The rest of the vehicle was completely original and in excellent condition with no rust or body damage. The odometer currently reads (1)29K with the 24K I've driven since owning. It was originally black with a red interior. I bought and restored this bronco with keeping it forever in mind and it shows. The paint alone totaled $12K and completed by Woody's Rod Shop in Murray, Utah. It was shot inside and out and done right. Everything removed including bolts, metal up prep, block sanded and finished with the highest quality product. It took 6 months to get back. Tony, the owner, is an artist; well known in the area for high-end work and the most meticulous man I've ever met. All parts used are either ONS (old new stock) or Dennis Carpenter wherever possible. This is an extremely nice bronco with upward of $30K invested. Add it up... the good stuff is pricey. I'm listing most everything I can remember. Interior:Fully painted and Reflex spray-lined throughout the floor and cargo area. (this really helps cut the road noise). Tan Leather seats from 2005 F-150. Matching rear bench and rear quarters in vinyl. New black, looped Mustang Style carpet. (slightly faded) New Black Dash. Metal dash removed, blasted and powder coated black. All new Dash Bezels and Emblems. New XLT style Door Panels. Factory GT bar (roll bar). ONS perforated Headliner (perfect tan to match the leather). New Sun Visors. New black Seat Belts front and rear. Tuffy Locking Stereo Console. All ( and I mean every single one including windshield, windows, quarter glass, top seals, hood seal...) rubber and seals/weatherstrip replaced with Dennis Carpenter. Exterior:Gorgeous Black Paint described above. All new Emblems. All new stainless (every single piece including mirrors). New front wheel wells. New Light assemblies, Reflex spray-lined top. Drive Train:Professionally rebuilt 400 with perfect RV+ cam. Runs very strong (everything bolt-on is new). New Ford installed C6 AT. Edelbrock 650 carb and manifold (78 is CA smog pump exempt. All smog legal). MSD Ignition with matching Distributor. Ceramic coated shorty headers with high end custom exhaust (quietest possible high performance). Power booster and MC upgrade to 1 ton (brakes). Oversize front calipers and rotors (T-bird). All new S/S brake lines. A/C rebuilt. Five (new spare) 15x8 Aluminum wheels and 13.50x15 Toyo Open Country M/Ts. 2 1/2" Rancho Lift with adjustable shocks. About the only thing left I'd do is convert the rear brakes to disc and change out the standard 3.50 open axels. But like I said, it runs really strong and the 3.50s are great on the highway. It jumps from 60 up to 90+ fast for what it is and cruises perfectly at 70-80. You decide!
