NO RESERVE ON THIS AUCTION!!! I HAVE $6000 - $7000 TIED UP IN THIS CAR AND IF IT SELLS FOR THE MINIMAL STARTING BID OF $500, SO BE IT! I HATE TO PART WITH THIS CAR, BUT NEED IT GONE! 1988 Volvo 740 Turbo Wagon for sale. If you are looking for a fun, fast and very different performance car, this is it. You can see additional photos on www.sfaboston.net by clicking the following link: http://sfaboston.bizland.com/REDVOLVO.htm and on the forums on www.turbobricks.org which highlights the build and has tons of pictures. Here is the direct link to the thread: http://forums.turbobricks.com/showthread.php?t=31034&highlight=citysurf740 This Volvo has been completely rebuilt, was on road until Fall of 2009 and was put in storage for the winter. I went to start it the other day and it did run on ether, but seems that the fuel pump didn't come on. It may need a fuse is all, but I work for Boston EMS and don't have the time to investigate it further. I also recently started a Montero project and am looking to buy a house which is why the Volvo has to go. I will be available to help load it onto a trailer and the car is not registered so must be towed or put on flatbed. Decent black interior, seats are not all split or cut up, good black carpets. Headliner has been removed as I was going to install a cage soon. Comfortable to use as is or convert to custom interior. The tires are 255/50r15 with only 7000 miles on them with stock rims. The wheels were completely stripped and refinished and sprayed gunmetal grey. They could use some touch up, but are straight and true, balance perfectly. Front and Back IPD sway bars Brakes less than 5000 miles. This includes new rotors, calipers and pads. Engine Rebuild with 5000 miles on it with perfect compression in all cylinders at 91 psi. All the best parts were used in this rebuild and I probably spent close to $4000 into the engine for parts and machine work. There is $1000 alone into the block in machine work. It was line bored, sleeved, deburred and much more. My friends father, an experienced racer and Hot Rodder blueprinted the engine. Sleeved block, standard bore Stock Turbo Pistons SPM race Connecting Rods from Sweden. Blueprinted and Balanced. Professionally build by Local Hot Rod Builder. Ported and Polished head with stock valves but IPD turbo Cam. Valve bowls blended and gasket match on intake and exhaust. Factory Volvo intake has been cut apart and boxed to allow for higher air volume at high RPM. All the engine components are new high volum oil pump, water pump, alternator. All accessory brackets, bolts and bushings are new. The Transmission is a T5 out 1980s mustang and I purchase a kit from Vintage Sports that makes it and it comes with a high performance Clutch and a 9 pound fly wheel. Comes with billet Hurst Shifter and custom cross membber. Also has custom racing oen piece driveshaft rated for 600hp. The turbo is out of a 1994 GMC Diesel truck, it is rebuilt and is a GM100 on a custom made tubular header and 50mm external wastegate with a entire 3 inch exhaust with a Magnaflow straight trough 3 inch resonator and a Flowmaster super 44 3 inch with a performance catalatic converter. The intercooler is the big NPR with 3 inch custom aluminum intake piping and vibrant hoses and Turbo XS BoV (blow off valve) There is a oil filter relocator kit all stainless steel braided lines and oil cooler. All Aeroquip and Russell AN fitting were used. Autometer gauges throughout to include: Boost Gauge, Oil Press Gauge, Monster Tachometer, Water Temp Gauge and Voltage gauge. Electric fans with new large capacity radiator. I have spend a lot of money and time on this car, but it is time for me to move on to other projects. Title in Hand and ready to sell. I will prefer local pick up but willing to ship at buyers expense to continental US only and no international buyers please, cash or US Postal money order 7 days after the end of the auction. With tuning and a posi rear end and slicks, I am sure this car is capable of making big power and 25 PSI of efficient boost that will translate into mid to low 12 second quarter mile passes, maybe even into the 11's without nitrous, though the engine is built for that and could easily take a 125 HP shot, especially with the addition of a dedicated nitrous fuel system. The body is straight and would be easy to prep for paint, or simply drive it as is for street or bracket racing. Quick video of the car before it was put away. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nsn1I0daoZ0On Jul-27-10 at 08:59:02 PDT, seller added the following information: Compression is at least at stock specs. Sebastian, the owner of the car is from Chile originally and sometimes his written English is not the best, nor is is metric to American conversion. I believe the compression was 180 to 190 or so per cylinder when we took compression during tuning last summer. All the cylinders were equal. The motor is great, super strong and will easily be a 12 or even an 11 second car with the right tuning. We build alot of cars and alot of engines, to see more please check out www.sfaboston.com The car also runs an MSD 6AL ignition box and MSD coil. Please ask any othejr questions, I will be responding on his behalf. Regards, TimOn Jul-27-10 at 09:00:21 PDT, seller added the following information: www.sfaboston.net recently changed domains!
