Vehicle Detail

This '68 Firebird has had a reported investment of over $40,000 put into the build. A retired show car that still wears all of the chrome and quality work you would expect of a high dollar car. The car still looks good, but with some work polishing and detailing would really bring this car back up a notch or two. The paint on this Firebird still shines bright and has a good, deep gloss. The paint is several years old and has some imperfections from use such as chips and scratches. There are a few bubbles in the paint, mainly on the driver's rear quarter and the rear of the drivers door. While they are not the first thing you see when looking at the car they should be mentioned. This is a beautiful car but it is not perfect. I would rate this car as a 15 footer and a Great No-Guilt Driver! The interior is still in excellent condition. Done in the correct factory style using reproduction components. The work inside is documented very well in the receipts. The engine is a 'YZ' coded 1968 400 HO that originally came with 360 Horsepower. The engine has seen a host of performance improvements and runs VERY strong. Mild 'blips' on the throttle result in tire roasting and endless smiles. Unfortunately in the paperwork on the car I can't find any receipts for the rebuild. I did find one for the camshaft which is a solid lifter, flat tappet, with duration @ .050 listed as 248/254, lift listed at .530/.530, advertised duration @ 284/284 and a lobe separation angle of 108. The intake manifold is a Jet Hot coated Edelbrock Performer with a Holley Carburetor. The headers were also Jet Hot coated and feed into 3" exhaust. The car sounds great and pulls like a freight train. The Turbo 400 transmission was rebuilt and has 3500rpm stall converter with a shift kit. It goes into gear quickly and shifts very crisp. Downshifts come with just the right amount of throttle. This trans work well. The rear differential was rebuilt with new 4.11 gears, Eaton Posi, all new bearings, TA rear girdle and new Yukon axles. Please call with any questions on this one, 360-416-4995. It is available for sale NOW! Please feel free to bid, but only if you can live up to your end of the bargain!
