Up for auction is a 1965 Volvo P1800S Manual Transmission w/ electric overdrive. The Story: Parked in the owners mom's garage in 1997 when the owner left for England. Hasn't moved since. Now it's time to let someone have a crack at the restoration. I pulled the car out and vacuumed interior and trunk. I power washed the dust off the exterior. According to the owner the car ran excellent when parked and had recently had a complete motor overhaul ( mid 90's). The car has the electric overdrive option which I'm told also worked. The interior panels and carpet have been removed and are in the trunk. The chrome/stainless mouldings are good, however, front fender mouldings are removed and missing ( if located they will of course be included.) The keys are also missing so I have been unable to start the car ( should they turn up I will update accordingly). The motor appears to turn freely by hand. I have a clear transferable registration and bill of sale( New York State does not title cars prior to 1973 vintage-transferable registration is valid proof of ownership. ) Detailed description follows. I am not a mechanic or car expert so please ask any questions prior to bidding. Body: Solid except for rust hole behind pax door and small hole in floor near E-brake lever. Both shown in Pics Interior: Appears complete but needs restoration. New dash pad in box. Panels/carpet removed and stored in trunk. Paint: Appears original except for lower rockers and lower rear quarter panels which have been resprayed. Should polish up nice. Engine: Running condition unknown. Complete and fluids in place. Undocumented overhaul in mid 90's Mileage: Odometer shows 40K + Probably is 140K. Could be 240K. Sold as TMU Tires: Will hold air but severely dry rotted. Trunk: Solid floor Parts: A few boxes of new misc seals, hoses and weatherstripping in trunk. Missing: keys, front fender chrome, lug wrench ( jack and crank are there) My Opinion ( for what it is worth) : A fairly rare car in average condition. Great restoration potential for the Volvo enthusiast. Would be a great parts car also. Terms: Sold with no reserve. No shipping is provided. I will help load on your trailer.
