Vehicle Detail

This auction is for a 69 Camaro coupe that I purchased from a local man a few miles from my home. This was his first car and he says it is just like it was when he bought it, with the Z28 stripes and cowl induction hood and the D80 spoiler. He bought it in 1988 when he was 17 years old and it was his first car. I think the car was painted prior to 1988 and the cowl hood was added at that time. It had a 4 speed muncie and a 350 motor in it and I think the Ansen Sprint wheels were on it when he bought the car. The car is in real solid shape as far as the frame and suspension is concerned. There is still a lot of factory black paint on the under body and subframe. This Camaro was kept in a garage for most of it's life but a couple of years ago it was moved outside. The problem with that is the quarters were removed while it was stored inside and we have had a lot of rain in eastern Kansas the last 2 years and the trunk floor will now need replaced and the rear floorpans will need work to repair them. The right corner of the dash will need a little rust repair and the left side will need cleaned up although I never saw a hole, it is pitted some. The shifter tunnel was modified for an inline shifter and will need a major renovation as shown in the pictures. The car has a 3/8" fuel line with no return line. The left tail pipe hanger attachment wasn't made useable when new so it must have had single exhaust. It has a 10 bolt non posi 3:08 multi leaf rear axle under it. This is a non power, drum brake car. The speedometer cable comes through the cowl to the left of the column. There is the typical rust at the bottom of the fenders. I haven't found any rust in the doors but they have some small dents and dings in them. When I got the car home, I had a pair of repop quarter skins that came with a 69 Z28 I bought a few years ago so I cleaned the body enough to hang the skins on the car so it would look better. They will come with the car so you can use them if you want. I would use a better more complete pair of quarters if I were going to build the car myself. The grille has some chips on the outer surround but the grille center itself is not broken. The lower valance and fender extensions are pretty rough. All the glass appears original to the car. The interior is all original and is pretty good for it's age. The padded dash is trash but the rest of the dash is pretty good except for the rust near the windshield. There is a grab bar on the dash and the stainless trim on the four speed pedals. One of the Power Beam headlights is still in place. Both front and rear bumpers are in decent shape as are the brackets. The rear bumperetts are bent. The Camaro will only come with what is shown in the pictures. No drivetrain is available for this car. I will furnish the 403 bell housing the 10.5 flywheel and the driveshaft which I don't have pictures of. This is an X44 body which is what the Copo Camaros were built from. This has the potential to make a very nice Copo tribute or clone from this very late production Norwood built Camaro. It is serial number #708858 and there were only about 2700 69 Camaros built after this one. Ask any questions before placing your bid. The buyer will be responsible for picking the car up at my shop in Bonner Springs, Kansas and I can assist in loading the car. Local buyers can pick the car up and pay for it in cash after the auction. Any form of check will have to clear the bank before I will release the car. I have offered this car locally and may close the auction at any time. On Jul-23-10 at 11:10:08 PDT, seller added the following information: I have added a few pictures that may be of help. The headrests are not included in the pictures but are included in the auction. They are the original Blue and have not been recovered. They are in nice condition. I can email any specific pictures if you send me your email address. The X code is written in crayon behind the rear seat on the body structure like what has been found on most of the X coded cars. It appears that the car will sell so ask any questions before you place the winning bid so there are no misunderstandings after the auction. I will expect full payment within 7 days of the auction close.
