Vehicle Detail

Very clean and strong 528i with cold weather package and sport package which includes the famous deep dish rims and the "M" steering wheel. I am the second owner of this car and I bought it coming off lease, (the $50,000 window sticker is still in the glovebox!) Steptronic shifting, power everything, cd changer, heated front seats, side airbags, tires are 1 year old. Xenon Headlights. There is nothing wrong with the paint the pictures just show reflections of debris on the ground. Here is what needs attention: While the car runs flawlessly there are two electrical components that need to be repaired. The ABS module which is located next to the engine needs to be replaced. This was one of the rare mistakes BMW engineers made by placing this module next to the engine where tremendous amounts of heat eventually melt the solder joints and circuitry rendering it useless. (I have a picture below I copied from a BMW fan site to show you where its located) This module controls the anti-lock brakes, the traction control, and the spedometer so as of a few weeks ago these 3 items stopped working. I am not very handy but someone who is can send the module out to be rebuilt for $150 and then re-install it (I will provide a link and instructions below). The other component is the blower resistor motor. This controls the fan in the cabin that blows the heat and A/C through the vents. I can verify that the A/C and heater are working fine however the blower is not working because of this component. Coincidentally, when I bought this car in 2003 I had to replace this same item and I used West German BMW (the dealership) to make the repair. I could probably locate the invoice as I think they charged me somewhere between $250-$350 to change a $70 part in about 15 minutes! Again if you're handy, this is apparently a simple repair. I also have the full owners manual that came with the car. This car runs as strong as it did the day I bought it, I'm selling it because I don't feel like making these repairs and I want a new BMW... after owning this car, I'll never drive anything BUT a BMW! Here are some links to where you can send the ABS module to get rebuilt.
