Vehicle Detail

FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION: We have sale a nice 1968 Mustang convertible. The candy apple red paint has a brilliant shine, the chrome gleams, the interior is in good condition, the 302 engine runs like it should, the automatic transmission has been up graded to a automatic overdrive, the brakes are great and the car drives very good. MY PICTURES: My pictures have lots of glare because of the light, the car has no dents and is not wavy. The interior is not faded, the pictures make it look like the color is uneven “it is not”, the color is a very dark red. MILAGE: 67849 "can not document other than odometer reading" VIN: 830t3174127 IS THERE ANY RUST PROBLEM? No rust that I can find in the paint, no rust bubbles, the underside has had the flat bottoms of the floor pans replaced, you can see the seams, they did not worry about a show car finsih. IS THERE ANY ACCIDENT DAMAGE? None that I can find, no warped or kinked members and the title indicated none. WHAT DOES THE CAR NEED? Nothing that I know of other than the interior light, just get in and drive. Of course you can always find something to improve if you look hard enough. I try to list everything I can find, but I’m just a mechanic. THIS IS A NICE DRIVER QUALITY CAR: Lots of people would call it a restored car, because of all the work that has been done, I don't, I call it nice driver quality. The paint is good, but not a $20,000 paint job, the chrome is good, but not roll out of the trailer chrome, the engine is clean and painted, but not detailed like a $100,000 muscle car. The car looks very good and is a bargain for my price, but its not a perfect car. WHY AM I SELLING THIS CAR: I am a car restorer and when I find a good deal on a car that I can sell for a good price and make a fair profit I do. I’m not a just a guy that buys cars to resale for a profit, I restore cars. I am retired and doing this for the love of it. PLEASE READ THE WHO YOUR BUYING FROM TO FIND OUT MORE. HISTORY: Sorry, I can’t tell you a lot about the history. The car came from right in the center of Florida in Ocala. No salt used on the roads down there and its way off the salty ocean. A Harley Davison dealer got the car and it came to a dealer friend in north Georgia, he called me and I bought it. THIS WAS NOT BORN A V8 CAR!!! The car was born a 6 cylinder, past owner had a rebuilt 302 put in the car (the 302 came in some of this year model car so it bolted right in with no modifications, he also upgraded the transmission the a AOD. The AOD is a nice upgrade, it has a overdrive gear that’s nice for the open road. This is done a lot because its so hard to find a good V8 body with out rust issues. PAINT: Candy apple red paint! The paint is nice, it’s a base/coat clear/coat. It has no rust, no dents, no dings, it is not wavy to look down the sides. There are a couple of tiny touched up stone chips and with a critiacal eye you will find something if you look hard, but the paint is super nice. CHROME: The chrome is nice, the bumpers look new, emblems look new, door handles nice, gas cap nice, stainless around the windshield and convertible top nice. GLASS: All the glass is good and the windows roll up and down good. CONVERTIBLE TOP: Its in nice used condition, its power operated and goes up and down good. By good used condition I mean it has no holes, the stitching is no loose and the color is still good. The rear window is glass that folds in the center, the glass tape has come off and was replace with more glass tape. The tape seat up was junk from Ford, it really doesn’t look good and has to be replaced from time to time. INTEROR: The interior is darker than my pictures show, it is not faded. The interior is nice with no fading, no wear, no holes and no cracks. It is not faded, that’s just the way the light made the pictures look. The dash pad is original and in great condition, it is very slightly wavy in the center of the long part, but diffidently does not need replaced. The interior is in good condition, but not new. SOUND SYSTEM: The sound system is OK, it’s a after market radio with AM/FM and cassette, its one of the types you don’t have to cut the dash to fit in. ENGINE: The engine is a 302 that looks like it was born in the car. Its has no smoke, no rattles, no real leaks and has plenty of power. It has a 4 barrel Holley carburetor and lots of chrome. EXHAUST SYSTEM: Good condition and has a nice mellow sound; it is a dual system. TRANSMISSION: The transmission has been upgraded to a automatic overdrive. BRAKES: The brakes are good, they are power assisted and drum all around. STEERING: The car drives great and the there are no loose parts. It is manual steering, but steers easy to me. LIGHTS: They all work other than the interior light. HORN WORKS! WIPERS WORKS! SPEEDOMETER WORKS! GUAGES: They all work, even the gas gauge. The temp gauge does read low because of an adapter to make the sending unit fit the engine, it is not calibrated in degress it just reads from cold to hot, I check the temp with my laser/digital thometer and its running normal temp, I also put a new sender in, it just reads low and you need to know. UNDERSIDE: The flat bottom of the floors have been replaces. HOW DO THE DOORS, TRUNK AND HOOD OPEN AND CLOSE: They all open and close good. PAPERWORK: I know what to do! I am a Tennessee licensed car dealer and have sold cars all over the US and exported many. The license and bonding is expensive for a small father/son operation, but need to make things legal and make them happen without problems. THIS IS NOT AN AUCTION, THIS IS A FIXED PRICE LISTING: I reserve the right to stop the listing at any time and sale the car “come look”. I RESERVE TH RIGHT TO STOP THE LISTING AT ANY TIME. THE CAR IS FOR SALE ON THE LOCAL MARKET and i can't passup a local buyer. CONTACT INFO: my cell is 423-506-8987, I do not answer when driving, while meeting with people, after about 8:00 PM eastern time or on Sunday morning or Sunday nights. Please leave a voice mail and I’ll get back. I do check my emails several times a day. cell 423-506-8987 email: dreamcar@live.com WHERE THE CAR IS LOCATED: The car is here at my home in Athens, Tennessee. Athens is in east Tennessee, we are 50 miles below Knoxville. Look at a Road Atlas and follow interstate 75 south from Knoxville. I live one mile and one turn from the interstate exit. My zip code is 37303. The closest large airport is Knoxville. Athens does have a good small airport, but has no commercial flights. I WILL ONLY PICK YOU UP AT THE AIR PORT UNLESS THE CAR IS PAID FOR IN FULL, I HAVE MADE TOO MANY WILD GOOSE CHASES! RENTAL CARS ARE AVAILABLE AT THE AIRPORT! WHO YOU ARE BUYING FROM: My name is Ron Watson and I live in the small town of Athens, Tennessee “Athens is called the friendly city”. I am 63 years old and work with my son Keith who is now 38. I am now retired and living my dream restoring, selling and improving classic cars. I was an auto mechanics instructor at Tennessee Technology Center here in Athens for many years. I am also a veteran of the US Army; I served as a Chinook helicopter mechanic, crew chief and instructor in the late 60s. LIFE IS GOOD IN THE GREEN HILLS OF EAST TENNESSEE! US TRANSPORT: “No problem”, I can recommend a very large company, McNutt Auto Transport Service 800-755-2324. EXPORT: I like Trans Ocean Auto, they make it easy. 908-788-7001 transoceanauto@yahoo.com I also like Viking Transport, LLC, 757-727-7979 john@vikingtransport.net MY AREA CODE FOR TRANSPORT: The area code for Athens, Tennessee is 37303. I live 1 mile off a major interstate (I-75), so transport is usually very fast. PAYMENT: I require a $500 deposit for a Buy Now or to hold the car. Option 1: Pay the old school way face to face. Option 2: Pay by check, I will wait till the check clears, I have had a fake one. Option 3: The safest is to let our banks handle it, my bank is a member of the US Federal Reserve, this is wire transfer. INSPECTIONS: Please come look and be happy. All inspection have to be done before the end of the listing.- TRADES: Trades are hard! No trades please! BOTTOM LINE no games: This is a very fair price for a car of this quality. I am asking $19,800 and will come down to my buy now price of $17,800. Thank You, Ron Watson cell: 423-506-8987 email: dreamcar@live.com
