Vehicle Detail
Thanks for looking at the Scout. I am going to let the auction finish out, but if you are interested please email me to come take a look, because I might trade it in to a local dealership with my wife's car to get her into something else. Please don't be shy about making an offer - I am not going to keep the Scout in my garage for another winter - This will be the last time it is listed on EBAY. Thanks again. (7/30/2010) You are viewing a 1974 International Harvester Scout II with a 304 IH V-8 Automatic 4X4. I have owned this Scout for 10 years and have had all of the work done to it. I have had the body off, new body mounts, paint job, interior replaced, entire truck rewired front to back, new fuel cell, new dash and gauges, rhino lined the inside, custom front bumper, custom rear bumper with tire carrier, new flowmaster exhaust, new weber carberator, super scout door inserts professionally installed and all the little stuff. I also did a rear disc brake conversion - so the scout is 4 wheel disc brakes and has a new master cylinder with working emergency brake. This scout was owned by someone that collected cars before me and was in good shape when I got her. The original dash odometer read 72,000 when I got her. I have only put 700 miles on her since I have had her. There are no squeaks or rattles. Also, I have changed all the fluids (coolant, transfer case, transmission, front and rear differentials, power steering and crank case) She runs absolutely great and is a complete head turner. I have some small businesses that need all of my time from the spring until fall and this is why I am letting her go - hopefully someone can enjoy her for what she is: A real 4x4 beach ride! You really have a good time pulling up next to a little Jeep or little Bronco - most people don't even know what kind of 4x4 she is. This is one of the nicest Scout II's that I have ever seen on the road. What you see in the pictures is what you get, although I do have some of the parts for a soft top (rails and cross frames). I have never had a top because I keep her in the garage and barely get to drive her - also I am going to keep my spare tire cover, but I have a brand new 33x12.50R15 BFG All-Terrain that I will throw in as well as the spare that is on her- The Scout has 33's on her now. Please send me an email if you want to take a look - I really recommend this before you buy anything this specific. The Scout does have some scratches on the tail gate (see pics) that I have not had professionally repaired/painted - they occurred when I didn't properly tie something down when I was using an enclosed trailer to move her. If you submit an offer please be prepared to pay for this vehicle if your offer is accepted. Once again please email me with any questions. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time if I sell her locally. This is a pick up only item - I expect $500.00 via paypal at the end of the auction and then we can work out a time to come pick her up and exchange money for title. I would be happy to show the Scout to anyone interested. Thank You for Looking!
