Vehicle Detail

This is a 1969 CB450 K1. According to my Classic Honda buyers guide, they made less of these than they did Black Bombers. The Black Bombers had 4 speed transmissions and this one is 5. The most unique thing about this bike is the gas tank shape and the seat hinges at the rear. According to my book it also has a little more horsepower but it doesn't say how much. I do know that they only made them at the very end of 1968 and the beginning of 1969. I bought this bike in October of 2001 and have only ridden it about 2000 miles. I have no way to know for sure but I believe the mileage on the speedometer is correct. I rode the bike yesterday after the picture of the speedometer was taken for about 50 miles. The engine serial number is: CB450E 3004867 which leads me to believe that it is the correct engine for this bike. The front tire says Dunlop made in Japan. The rear says Bridgestone made in Japan so I believe they are the originals. I wouldn't recommend riding it on the highway with these but they do fine in the city. This is not a show bike. I would call it a survivor. The only things I know about originality is that it was painted Candy Blue sometime in 2001 before I bought it. It has clearcoat on it and the paint still looks new. I replaced the battery last year and keep a trickle charger on it always. I replaced the fuel petcock with a new one from Honda and the spark plugs have been replaced. The stalks that mount the rear turn signals to the bike seem to have been shortened at some time. See pictures. The bike runs out good but as every Honda I have owned it is very cold natured. It has some blems in the chrome, some pits on turn signal housing and scratches on one. See pictures No pitting or rust on the fenders. The seat pan is solid and I have the tools and pouch that you see pictured. The mufflers have spots on the outside close to 3/4 of the way back that I can't explain. I am guessing that that is where the baffle is inside and it was caused by heat. They were there when I got the bike and have not increased in size or shape. Again it is not a show bike so look at the pictures and if you would like more let me know. This sale is with a $500 deposit immediately at auctions end by Paypal and balance in cash at pickup within 7 days of auctions end. I will help with shipping any way I can except I can not crate the bike or anything like that. The bike is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early. I can sell to the lower 48 states only. This bike is always stored inside. Call Danny at 336-259-7709
