Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is this close to perfection of a shelby replica that I have ever seen. This is the third one I have had and it is by far the best. I took this car in on a trade and have only had it a couple months. When it came to me, the car was a running and driving car that was driven for fun and show. After carefully inspecting the entire car I decided to fix and repair all the little things that would bother me if I was driving the car myself. I took it for a ride and was extremely impressed with the performance of this outstanding car. The only problem was the paint on the car was less than perfect for my standards and quite a few of the gauges and lights were not working properly. So I decided that I may end up driving this car myself and if so it would need to be near perfect. I would not be seen in one of my cars unless I am satisfied with it, for my reputation is so important in this line of work. I brought it into my repair center which is the "World Famous" Steel City Classics. We have numerous cars around the world that were completely restored by us. You can check us out at wegotmuscle.com and see on going quality work from your home. I had this car sanded down and prepared for sealing with a thick build 2K primer so that all the small waves and imperfections in the body could be block sanded to a true arrow straight finish. After making sure the body was perfectlly straight, it was then sealed to prepare for the PPG basecoats. After applying the nightmist blue paint(1966 shelby cobra color) we then had the wimbelton white stripes applied which are EXACTLY the same correct shelby stripe size from the originals. (I am a nut for details) ( my customers made me that way). After the basecoats were applied I then sanded that to prepare for the 4 coats of clear finish. After the clearcoat application we then block sanded the entire car with water once checking for any and all imperfections. Once all those were fixed we then block sanded one more time to make the paint be as smooth as glass. After that was sanded it was then time to really start working! We had to bring back the shine by buffing the sanded paint finish to the perfection of what you see in these pictures. THERE ARE OVER 200 MAN HOURS IN THE PAINTJOB ALONE ON THIS CAR. At 100.00 an hour for labor, you do the math!! The kit itself would cost over 30,000.00 and the motor would top out at about 12,000.00. Then you would still need to finish the car?? This one is already done and Yes I am telling you it is as close to perfect as you will get for the money you can buy it for!! The pictures speek for themselves and it DOES look even better in person. IF HAVE THIS CAR INSPECTED AND IT IS NOT EXACTLY AS I STATED , I WILL GIVE YOU BACK A FULL REFUND!!!! Someone on ebay was advertising alum body cobra's with no paint and the alum was polished to such a great shine and that paint could never look like that??? Well, look again because it can!!! I just took this car to the first car show and cruise of the season. WOW, what a hit!!! There were three other cobra's there and one was for sale for 35,000.00 and it didn't even come close to comparing to the quality of this cobra. If that was worth 35 then this one should be worth 150!!! Practically everything on this car is new or rebuilt. Here is what the car is: Everett Morrison Motorcars kit car that was built in the late 80's. I obtained the car from the second owner who purchased it in 2003. He also was an avid ford enthusiast. Most of the suspension and motor overhauls were done before I got the car and I do have all the reciepts and documention to prove a good bit of the thousands spent on this beauty. All the model and serial numbers are stamped on tags attached to the body and frame of the roadster. Some of the significant improvements of the car start here. The drivetrain consists of a 427w(351w) stroker built on a 351w block out of a 1970 mustang. Eagle forged crank, Forged I-beam rods and Mahle pistons solidify the bottom end enclosed in a 7 quart Milodon oil pan. It has 210cc pro comp alum heads with 2.02/1.60 valves, 1.72 crane roller rockers, and a ford motorsport e-303 roller cam with a 512 lift, with a polished pro products alum intake and a demon 750 cfm carb with vacuum secondaries. HEI distributor, chrome motorsport water pump, billet pulleys, alum becool radiator, four electric cooling fans for proper cooling, Mocal remote oil cooler with stainless braided lines, super duty T5Z ford motorsport tranny, wilwood slave and master cylinder, fidanza alum flywheel, king cobra clutch, custom driveshaft, ford 9 inch raer with 3.50 posi gears, 12 inch rotors with wilwood calipers(4 piston), mustang II set up under the front with Koni shocks, quick ratio manual rack-n-pinion steering, all new ball joints, tie rods, bushings and brakes, and new rear grease seals. The interior is a very comfortable leather with a set of full Smith's Gauges that all work perfectly, 5 point seat belt harness, leather wrapped steering wheel, lucas lighting and fully adjustable Aldin coil overs. I WILL HAVE THIS CAR DELIVERED ANYWHERE IN THE CONTINENTAL UNITED STATES IN AN ENCLOSED TRAILER TO THE WINNING BIDDER!!! This car is close to Perfect!! And it shows when you see it. You will be the hit at all car shows and cruises. and you can be proud to show it off. There will be no bad talk behind your back on this one. Just let the pictures speak for themselves. Please e-mail me any questions and feel free to ask for more pics. I have hundreds of them. THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION!!!!!!!! This car is for sale locally for 69,900.00 and I do reserve the right to end the auction early. I will also consider all trades. Please e-mail me your questions!!!! Thank You and Good Luck bidding.
