Vehicle Detail
IN A NUT-SHELL: I have for sale a rock solid 1963 Ford Galaxie XL 500 convertible “this is a very highly optioned car” I don’t think you will find a car that is any more solid than this one “no rust issues”. Brilliant red paint, black convertible top that is power operated, power brakes, power steering, electric windows and XL500 package. Things work on this car even the clock! HISTORY: A man that owns the local golf course owned this car, he got it from his father. That’s about all I know about it. VIN: 3W69Z111325 MILAGE: 101022, but everything mechanical has been rebuilt. TITLE: Clear Tennessee title in hand and the VIN matches the car. IS THERE ANY RUST PROBLEM? This is a solid car that has no rust issues that I can find. All the panels look to be original to me, the floors look original and they are not coated with under-coating “you can see what is there”. The frame and floor pans do have surface rust, I would wire brush them, seal and paint them. The frame is straight and solid. IS THERE ANY ACCIDENT DAMAGE? None that I can find, no warped or kinked frame members and the title indicated none. WHY AM I SELLING THIS CAR? I am a car restorer and when I find a good deal on a car that I can sell for a good price and make a fair profit I do. I’m not a just a guy that buys cars to resale for a profit, I restore cars. I am retired and doing this for the love of it. PLEASE READ THE WHO YOUR BUYING FROM TO FIND OUT MORE. BEWARE!!!!!!!! My pictures make this car look perfect, it is not perfect, it is a good driver quality. By driver quality, I mean it looks good, but under inspection you will find touched up chips in the paint, some thin paint, a few pits in the chrome. It will satisfy most people, but its not a perfect show car. BEWARE OF BUYING FROM PICTURES ON EBAY, IF THE SELLER DOES NOT TELL YOU THE TRUTH YOU WILL HAVE A UNPLEASANT SURPRISE. THIS IS A GOOD CAR JUST LISIN TO WHAT I TELL YOU BELOW. PAINT: The paint has a brilliant shine and has no rust bubbles, no dents, no dings and the car is straight to look down the sides. The paint is thin because it is old, several touched up chips, a few very minor ripples on top of one drivers rear fenders. The paint is just old, it looks good enough for most joy riders, but its not perfect, its not a $15,000 paint job. CHROME: It still shines good, but has some pits, it is not peeling or rusty. The stainless around the window is nice and the side stainless nice. INTEROR: New interior with no wear “it is nice”. GLASS: Very nice glass, the windshield has one tiny stone bulls-eye (I would have a glass place seal it. The electric side windows are clear with no milky spots or bubble. The drivers rear is not going up and down, the motor is probably stuck. I will fix it for the buy now price or if you come pick the car up I will deduct $150. All the other electric windows go up and down good. CONVERTIBLE TOP: Its in great condition, no fading, no holes and it is power operated. SOUND SYSTEM: The radio must be a after market, it is AM/FM and works, it does say Ford on the front. CLOCK: The clock works, I won’t guarantee you it keeps the right time. ENGINE: The engine is a 390 that runs very strong with no rattles, no knocks and no blue smoke. EXHAUST SYSTEM: Stock style exhaust in decent condition. TRANSMISSION: 3 speed automatic that shifts nice. BRAKES: Power operated that stop the car good and straight. STEERING: Power steering “the car drive great”. WHEELS AND TIRES: Radial tires that ride smooth and have good tread. HUBCAPS: Original hubcaps that are in good conditions. LIGHTS: They all work, even the interior lights! HORN WORKS! WIPERS WORK! SPEEDOMETER WORKS! GUAGES: They work! HOW DO THE DOORS AND HOOD OPEN AND CLOSE? They open and close very good. SUMMARY OF DEFECTS: Weak paint, one electric window is not working, some pits in the chrome. SUMMARY OF THE BEST: The car look great, it drives great, it stops great and things work. “It is not a rust bucket”. PAPERWORK: I know what to do! I am a Tennessee licensed car dealer and have sold cars all over the US and exported many. The license and bonding is expensive for a small father/son operation, but need to make things legal and make them happen without problems. THIS IS NOT AN AUCTION, THIS IS A FIXED PRICE LISTING: I reserve the right to stop the listing at any time and sale the car “come look”. I RESERVE TH RIGHT TO STOP THE LISTING AT ANY TIME. THE CAR IS FOR SALE ON THE LOCAL MARKET. CONTACT INFO: my cell is 423-506-8987, I do not answer when driving, while meeting with people, after about 8:00 PM eastern time or on Sunday morning or Sunday nights. Please leave a voice mail and I’ll get back. I do check my emails several times a day. cell 423-506-8987 email: dreamcar@live.com WHERE THE CAR IS LOCATED: The car is here at my home in Athens, Tennessee. Athens is in east Tennessee, we are 50 miles below Knoxville. Look at a Road Atlas and follow interstate 75 south from Knoxville. I live one mile and one turn from the interstate exit. My zip code is 37303. The closest large airport is Knoxville. Athens does have a good small airport, but has no commercial flights. I WILL ONLY PICK YOU UP AT THE AIR PORT UNLESS THE CAR IS PAID FOR IN FULL, I HAVE MADE TOO MANY WILD GOOSE CHASES! RENTAL CARS ARE AVAILABLE AT THE AIRPORT! WHO YOU ARE BUYING FROM: My name is Ron Watson and I live in the small town of Athens, Tennessee “Athens is called the friendly city”. I am 63 years old and work with my son Keith who is now 38. I am now retired and living my dream restoring, selling and improving classic cars. I was an auto mechanics instructor at Tennessee Technology Center here in Athens for many years. I am also a veteran of the US Army; I served as a Chinook helicopter mechanic, crew chief and instructor in the late 60s. LIFE IS GOOD IN THE GREEN HILLS OF EAST TENNESSEE! US TRANSPORT: “No problem”, I can recommend a very large company, McNutt Auto Transport Service 800-755-2324. EXPORT: I like Trans Ocean Auto, they make it easy. 908-788-7001 transoceanauto@yahoo.com I also like Viking Transport, LLC, 757-727-7979 john@vikingtransport.net MY AREA CODE FOR TRANSPORT: The area code for Athens, Tennessee is 37303. I live 1 mile off a major interstate (I-75), so transport is usually very fast. PAYMENT: I require a $500 deposit for a Buy Now or to hold the car. Option 1: Pay the old school way face to face. Option 2: Pay by check, I will wait till the check clears, I have had a fake one. Option 3: The safest is to let our banks handle it, my bank is a member of the US Federal Reserve, this is wire transfer. Option 4: Pay by pay pal, but you will have to pay the fees and they are about 3%. INSPECTIONS: Please come look and be happy. All inspection have to be done before the end of the listing.- TRADES: Trades are hard! No trades! Come look at this car and drive it home! Thank You, Ron Watson cell: 423-506-8987 email: dreamcar@live.com
