Vehicle Detail
For auction is a 2001 Ford F-350 4WD Crew Cab Dually with a 7.3L Powerstroke and a manual 6spd transmission. OMG - The torque. I bought this truck 4 years ago with big intentions. Those plans never really panned out, so I don't really need this much truck for my daily life. Anyway, I bought it from a Texas dealer who either was not letting on to everything known about this truck or simply didn't know anything about this truck. Simply put, I had to get some work done to this truck, my investment is your gain. You should know however when this truck was delivered to me 4 years ago, the tow company responsible for it parked illegally in Tennessee somewhere and my truck while on top of the carrier was hit by another Tractor-Trailer in motion. It did $4200 of damage to the driver side of the bed but was all sheet metal and fiberglass damage. The bumper, rear wheel, frame and suspension was all spared... no damage. I've had all the body work done and the truck looks great for its age, does have a few small dings here and there and the grill has a "peeling" crack in the chrome plating. Now with the other stuff. The reconditioning I mentioned includes, ball joints, steering box, steering pump, high pressure oil pump (that was expensive..whew!) Installed new exhaust with converters (for MD) and front brakes, mud flaps and some other small stuff I don't recall....all for the MD inspection after I got the body work done. Installed new glowplug relay the first autumn I had it (2006). More recently, new rear brakes, rear axle shaft seals. All six new tires last year. Currently has a fresh pair of MotorCraft batteries. A local Ford dealer has all of the records of repairs since my ownership. I may be able to get copies if necessary. I might still have some of the paperwork here already. As I said, there are few dings, but overall, the paint is decent and presentable....just not a "show" truck. The interior is in very good shape, the one very nice asset I didn't have to recondition. For those who need a work horse, good news. I had installed last July a new Class V Titan receiver hitch and new brake controller. $1100 right there with labor at a local RV shop. I've never had the opportunity to pull with it though. As I said, my plans never panned out. Some asked me why a Class V, what are you pulling? Well, I just thought it was silly to put a Class III on a 1-ton dually capable of pulling 18000 or whatever pounds. Agree? Anyway, this truck does still need a bed liner. I wanted to have the bed sprayed but haven't gotten to it yet with the other repairs needed first. I believe I addressed everything important and I don't want to write a book. See the pictures. All features work except possibly the ABS, I'm getting a light on the dash for it. I engaged the 4WD last winter during our big snow here and it worked fine. However, one of the hubs were clicking and I haven't had it looked at yet. I'll accept up to $500.00 down payment via Pay-Pal but require the balance in cash or personal check. If by check, it must clear my bank before I will release or deliver the truck. Is being sold As-Is with no warranty of any kind and sale is final. Bring own transport or temp tag if picking up. I can deliver up to 125 miles from the 21060, MD area on a Saturday or Sunday. Any other shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. The title is clear and in hand. If paying by check, please send phone number with check. Check must show name and current address. For security, I will verify check with bank and account holder. Revision 7/12. I realized I didn't mention one cosmetic issue with the wheels and I should before folks start bidding. The right front wheel has a scuff/scrape in it that is just barely visible in the passenger side photo. The left rear (outer rim) has a slightly tarnished look from dirt and road salt not obvious in the driver side photo. I haven't tried to scrub it out, but it should clean up or can be polished out. I will try to post a pic in the daylight. This truck is not cosmetically perfect, it is 9 years old and used. There is no heavy rust outs or other sheetmetal integrity problems besides mentioned dings.
