Vehicle Detail
For auction is a 1998 Chevrolet Astro LS - AWD minivan. It is in very good condition for its age. Still has reasonably good paint, although the hood is starting to show "spider veins" but still presentable. The van's best aesthetic attribute is its interior, very nice. It has new Michelin M+S Light Truck tires and all new brakes as of this past May, $1,400 invested there. Is ready for fluid changes, but powertrain runs nicely. The AWD works too, did great in the "BIG" snows we had here in the Chesapeake area last winter. This van had some EGR and front end work done in 2004 for a Disney trip. In 2008, I had new hatch struts installed in the rear. It has the hatch top gate with dutch doors. This van seats 8 and has rear A/C. The A/C does work, but does take a few minutes to really cool down when really hot out.....vans are like green houses although this van is factory tinted on all the side and rear glass behind the front doors. It has a fuel injected 4.3L V6 and automatic transmission. Last MD emission test was passed. The only real fault of this vehicle is that it needs power window repair on both front doors. The driver side is stuck down and I have to keep sealing it in plastic when I know rain is coming. Has been broke since a week and a half ago, only rained once here so far since then. The passenger side does work sort of. It will go up and down, but the window motor gets hot and trips. It takes a while to get the window back up as it starts and stops. This has been going since the winter, I just haven't gotten around to put it in the shop. It is the passenger side and I just leave it up. I was going to put it in the shop earlier but it needed the brakes and tires first and then I ended up buying my wife a new car anyway which brings me to why I'm selling this van. I don't really need and it would be great for a family who needs cheap wheels with lots of seats. In the van's life before my family, it was bumped in the rear bumper at some point. No major damage was done, but the bumper sags on the right side very slightly. You don't notice it unless you're really looking at the rear close. I'll accept up to $500.00 down payment via Pay-Pal but require the balance in cash or personal check. If by check, it must be cleared by my bank before I will release or deliver the vehicle and within 7 days of auction close. The vehicle is being sold As-Is and with no warranty of any kind. Sale is final. I can deliver up to 125 miles from the 21060, MD area on a Saturday or Sunday. Otherwise pickup is recommended, but buyer must have own means to transport it or have own "temp" tag. Important: This van is paid for and clear, but I only have the temp title with the old lien on it. I will be contacting the required parties this week to get the pay-off paperwork for the MVA. After all these years, I don't know why I don't have it already, have patience with me. On Jul-11-10 at 13:33:49 PDT, seller added the following information: If paying by check, please send phone number with check. Check must show name and current address. For security, I will verify check with bank and account holder.
