Vehicle Detail
I recently acquired this car through a classic car auction in Branson Mo. It has been converted to a buick 350 engine and tranmission. I did not do the conversion, but am a jaguar and foreign car tecnician and have been for 40 years, and own another xjs with 350 chev engine and 6 spd standard transmission which I did do the conversion. The point being that I am qualified to give a good evaluation of this Jag which in fact I hate to give up. First off, this car is very solid with zero rust underneath. It has been garaged since 2001, that being the last year it was driven. It came to me with 4 new dayton tires, a new battery (7 year), new exhaust , new quadrajet carbureter, and new sparkplugs and wires. The seats have been re-done and it looks like the headliner is new also, or has been extremely well taken care of. I have driven the car about 200 miles in the last two weeks and it runs very well. the only problem I've had with the car has been some rust in the gas tank. I removed the tank and removed the rust, no further problem. I have done an evacuation of the air conditioning system, and the car still had some freon in the system (r-12), but I did not bother to convert to 134 until the o-rings are replaced. The ac compressor is fine and there should be no problems with the ac at all. Most of the gauges are working, tachometer is eratic, and oil pressure is wrong. Speedometer reads about 5mph slow. The body again has no rust underneath at all, I have found one pin size perforation on passenger rear quarter right at the joining point of two panels, I wish my own jag was as nice as this one. The paint job is a 10 footer, with a lot of touched up chips, they really are not very noticable except up close. This is a very solid dependable xjs, i would drive it anywhere, and how many xjs owners out there would feel that comfortable about theirs. Just so we are clear, I'm not a dealer, I just love jags, and have since before I bought my first xke until now. I love the looks of the xjs, I'm not a fan of the v12. Gm conversions properly done make the xjs a safe, dependable, reliable and affordable car. They have more power, much better gas milage, better handling from a lighter engine etc. I know some purists will disagree, and thats ok, but there's more legroom without the fire extinguisher. Ask me questions before you bid, 660-263-7503, don't bid without funds, if your mom or wife won't let you have it, if whatever. I have a 100% rating, its important to me, thats why I am so wordy in this ad. I expect to be treated honestly as well. $500 dollars to be in pay-pal within 24 hours, balance in cash to be arranged. I will do what I can to assist you in getting the car.
