Vehicle Detail
This auction is for a 1969 Ford Mustang convertible. The car had a lot of money spent on it with a cosmetic restoration with new paint, interior, bumpers, weatherstripping, emblems, moldings, exhaust, etc. Looks great for local cruises and shows, this car never fails to turn heads with its bright red paint and good looks. Perfect for a resto-mod project, this is a base model (manual drum brakes, manual steering, manual top, and manual transmission) car. The original "F code" 302 V8 is under the hood, and has been mildly upgraded with an Edelbrock intake, Edelbrock Performer 600 CFM carb with an electric choke, and "Mustang" script aluminum valve covers. New 2 1/4" dual exhaust with Flow Masters, this car growls through the chrome tail pipes exiting the factory dual exhaust style rear valence panel. Paint and bodywork were completed by a professional shop before I bought the car, the body is extremely straight and paint looks terrific. The front and rear floorboards were overlay patched (not butt-welded), as were the trunk floor drop offs (as seen via the trunk). Originally a Black Jade (color code C) car, it was completely stripped and color changed to Ford 2003 Bright Red (you need sunglasses to look at it in the direction sun), all crevices, jambs, inner/outer panels, etc. were re-painted. Originally a factory wide-ratio Top Loader four-speed car per the included Deluxe Marti Report, it currently has a three speed manual transmission (I have no idea why). Black standard interior with a Grant wood steering wheel, cruiser console, and CD player (not hooked up - listening to the exhaust instead). It runs and drives well, and is very reliable. Relatively new P22570R14 Goodyear Eagle GT's on original Ford styled steel wheels with GT caps. NPD supplied 1" drop coil springs and 1" lowering blocks in the back provide the stance. What does it need? The engine will need to rebuilt in another cruise season or two, front suspension rebuilt, the top needs to be replaced, the speedometer is inoperative, and the LH shock tower has been cut for access to the upper A-arm bushing (so many good Fords screwed up this way). To be clear, this is a really nice driver, cruise night car, but not a show car. It may require a few other things that any 41 year old car would require (engine compartment detailing, shocks, alignment, etc.), you need to be realistic in your expectations at this price point. Just brought to New Orleans from NC last month, this is an original Southern car sold originally in TN, I bought it in Atlanta 5 years ago where it had been located for at least the prior 10 years. Clear NC title that was assigned by the NC DMV (no titles required in GA where I bought the car) and Bill of Sale will be provided. Local inspection is preferred and invited, call me at (504) 656-0437 after 7:00PM CST to discuss this car in more detail. I've tried to represent it accurately, as that is how I want to buy them myself. I reserve the right to end the auction early, and have the car for sale locally as well. $1000 deposit required with 48 hours of end of auction, shipping is the responsibility of the buyer.
