Vehicle Detail

This is the MGB you’ve been waiting for A 1968 (great year for these cars) with less than 25,000 miles (That’s 25K original miles not 25K since restoration, it’s the total miles the car has traveled since 1968, about 600 miles a year. Important to note she’s done enough miles on the rebuilt engine to work out the bugs though.) I believe at the time of posting this is the lowest mileage chrome MGB on ebay. I am the second owner of the vehicle, she was a true ‘barn find’ find locally here in a Colorado The last time she’d been on the road was 1972 and she still had the original 1972 tags on She sat in a garage from 2003 to 2006 while ‘pretty’ work was being done (and afforded) at which point she finally hit the road, shortly after that an oil seal went and she threw a con-rod on the highway so the engine was completely rebuilt from top to bottom – no point in skimping right? the engine was already out of the car ! She was given an unleaded head, bored 0.40 over with new high performance pistons and a high performance street cam Engine work completed professionally in Birmingham Alabama, the dressed (painted to original spec) engine was then installed locally by Auto Wizards of Colorado The car has Old English White Paintwork (I would rate it 9 out of 10) All new interior, Seats, trim, door panels and carpet Stayfast canvas (double duck) top in black installed by Auto Trim specialists of Colorado Matching tonneau/boot Bosch ‘upgraded’ alternator installed by Auto Wizards of Colorado 4 new (a few hundred miles) Goodyear Integrity tires Full carb rebuild done by Auto Wizards of Colorado as you’ll see she still has her original SU’s and they run very nicely Newly Carpeted trunk installed by Auto Trim specialists of Colorado All chrome either replaced (trim strips) or polished to original, front looks amazing the rear has some minor scuffs but is still nicer than most All body panels are original with the exception of the hood which just wouldn’t sit exactly straight and so was replaced (prior to the paint) New Pace Setter Monza exhaust all the way from the manifold (so includes new header) to the tail pipe Loads of the usual 200 dollar bits and pieces that would take too long to list but at least a couple of grand I’d like to forget (and won’t be telling the wife about) AND – she still has her original owner’s manual She's not a show baby but might be one of the best looking low mileage drivers on the road and gets more looks than my in-laws '09 corvette, as I've always enjoyed my cars and never 'shown' I can't answer what it would take for her to win you some ribbons but I've certainly seen lesser cars with stuff stuck on them. Any test drive (no joy rides) any inspection, I will ship it anywhere you want it to go provided funds have cleared and you pay the shipper. If I was keeping her the only things I would look into are putting bigger cores in the radiator because she runs a warm on hot days (when it’s 90+) and at some point I might consider upgrading the front suspension bushings to poly. Really that’s about it; this car has been professionally worked on throughout so no handyman specials, no botch jobs. I feel the reserve is set sensibly given the condition and rarity (due to condition and mileage) of this car. As someone who has owned my fair share of British cars I am more than aware that we put more into getting our cars into this kind of condition than they will ever fetch when up for sale, needless to say I’m asking (as most of us do) a lot less than I have in the car. Please email any questions you have Payment in cashiers check or cash preferred. Some terms (and some reminders) Please do not ask questions after bidding, I consider myself pretty responsive to emails (within normal hours) so I will respond to any questions you have as soon as I can before the auction ends, remember you are bidding to own the car not to come and have a look. If you have no feedback, negative feedback, or excessive bid retractions please contact me prior to bidding as bids may be subject to cancellation or rejection. Note - by placing a bid you are entering into a legally binding contract and are committed to purchasing the vehicle. The details of this commitment are further outlined in the eBay User Agreement. I intend on selling the car to the highest bidder you wouldn’t like it if I had a change of heart, likewise I expect that anyone bidding is in a position to complete the transaction and agree to the terms. The car is for sale outside of this auction and therefore I reserve the right to end the auction early or to cancel bids at my discretion and I am not be held liable for any such cancellation or closure. A $1,000 non-refundable deposit is required within 48 hours of auction's close, the balance is due within 5 days or I reserve the right to offer the car to another buyer and I may seek compensation for any lost monies. This is a 42 year old car and therefore the car is sold as is, where is with no warranties implied or guaranteed, all information provided is however guaranteed to be correct to the knowledge of the seller. Please be aware if I haven’t mentioned an item in my description then please don’t assume that it’s included (there may be some additional bits hanging around that I will send along with the car but otherwise I have described what is up for sale). Final bid price does not include shipping, or any government documentation fees, customs fees or any other change of ownership or transportation fees I haven’t thought of, those will be the purchaser's responsibility. I am happy to assist with shipping arrangements, but I cannot assume any responsibility for damages or delays incurred once the car is in the shipper's custody. Good luck and thanks for looking On Jul-05-10 at 16:05:04 PDT, seller added the following information: I will consider part-exchange against the car up to approximately $5K (but let me know what you have - you never know), and if you have a RWA MG Midget and you're looking to trade 'up' definitely drop me a line. On Jul-09-10 at 05:45:23 PDT, seller added the following information: I've owned over a dozen British cars and this blows all the others away But I have lowered the buy it now and the reserve but she's worth way more than both so she might just find her way back into the 'collection' Hemmings average sale price - $13,500 and this car is the way above average, NADA - books this car at between $16,000 and $26,000 (and that doesn't factor for the mileage) I've watched ebay the last couple of months and you won't find a nicer example out there, no silly rollbars, odd looking seats or 112 miles (on a 150K mile car), easily the best you will find
