Vehicle Detail
You're looking at my beautiful 1971 Corvette Stingray Roadster (convertible) with 54k original miles. I am the 3rd owner of the car, owning it for about a year now (previous #2 owner had for 30 years). Decent options (P/S, P/B, Shoulder Harnesses). It was originally Warbonnet Yellow and when the 2nd owner bough it in 1979, he didn't care for the original color so he had a VERY nice (high standards job, no evidence left when it was done that it was a different color previously) paint color change done to I what think is Brands Hatch Green, including putting on the more aggressive LT-1 hood (I no longer have the original hood, but I don't know why you'd want it (other than for originality)...they look so blah compared to the LT-1 hood!). This was a personal preference thing. He wanted the car, but didn't like the yellow gold color...green (which is gorgeous by the way with the interior color) was his thing. That's actually why I bought it. Not your typical RED on black Corvette! This car has no evidence of ever being hit or damaged in any way, and still looks amazing for having 30 year old paint on it, evidenced from ALWAYS being a garage kept car and never driven in the bad elements! The white soft top is BRAND new and is always tucked away inside it's stowaway. The car has ALWAYS been garaged and is beautiful! The car IS factory numbers matching, with its original 350 engine (with 270hp/360 torque) and its original 4 speed tranny (nice and crisp and shifts beautifully). Clutch is in awesome shape. I really LOVE this car but I also have another 1971 Stingray LT-1/ZR-1 hybrid that I lovingly call "The Beast" that puts out 450hp, and I'm looking for a Ferrari for my "stable"...no pun intended. The car has new Flowmaster exhaust (I had put on last Fall to give it more rumble). The chrome bumpers are in amazing condition. Everything works except the clock...go figure. All lights work around the car, including all warning/dummy lights on the dash/center console area. As well, all fiber optics lights are working (a few dimmer than others, but they work). The headlights and windshield wiper door open and close as they should, with no hesitation. The saddle colored interior is all original and stunning. There is very minor wear at the bottom of the driver's seat bolster from getting in. Other than that, the thing is beautiful! Carpets are clean, original, and super nice. Door panels and dash are pretty much flawless! Really nice, and free of the typical cracking you see commonly on the armrest areas! Center console and gauges are bright, and virtually unmarked. The interior has a GREAT patina that just gives the car more mojo! A non-smokers car as well it's whole life. There are a few rubber door/weatherstripping pieces that "could" be replaced, but they're not that bad and pretty cheap when ever you decide to replace. This is a driver, but shows VERY well. I get TONS of attention in this thing! One guy almost went off the road trying to "film" it using his phone the other day! The car really needs nothing but a new owner. I'm sure you'll find a few "minute" little things if you look really hard but again, it's a driver. There are a few little blemishes in the paint, but hey...after 30+ years of driving it since it was repainted you're gonna have that! I KNOW I'm going to regret selling her, but I really want a Ferrari and I only have room (and barely that) for the 2 cars in the garage with the golf cart. It's definitely cool having the two '71 Stingrays in the garage...I lovingly call them "His & His"...that never gets old with the Wife...LOL...but I'm just looking for a change! The blue LT-1 car is just so bad ass that unfortunately it's the one I'm going to keep. If you're looking for a trailer/garage queen that is a 100 point car, this is not for you. If your looking for an honest car that is pretty much an unmolested survivor then this IS your car. Anyone other than a Bloomington Gold judge is going to look at this thing and say "WOW"! Values are ALL over the place on these cars, so I'm pricing it with that in mind. I don't NEED to sell it...I'd LIKE to sell it...only because I want a Ferrari. Period. I'd consider a trade up deal as well if you have a Ferrari and are looking for some American muscle for your collection. I've been a big collector over the years of mostly European Exotics to the likes of Porsche, Lotus, Bentley, BMW, etc...and the "Stallion" is begging to get into my life again. Maybe I'm a glutton for punishment?! I also have a factory hard top which IS included in the sale. It's in nice shape, but needs repainted (currently black) and weatherstripping restored. This again is a super sweet ride that is going to make someone VERY happy. I am a private seller/collector, NOT a dealer, so all sales are final.
