Vehicle Detail

This has been our almost-23-year-old daughter's daily driver for the last 3 years, she's just acquired a VW so now it's time for this to move on. The good: The body is SOLID! I haven't found any rust on it. The 3.8 V6 runs well; the previous owner had the heads professionally redone. Power windows & locks, key-fob clicker for locks and trunk release (pretty sure the clicker could use a fresh battery, you need to get close to the car operate). A/C works (see below regarding vent issue). The bad: About 2 years ago another driver hit the passenger side and damaged the Mustang's front fender, door and a bit of the rear fender. A red door was found at a local bone yard, unfortunately it was a plain-Jane car. She's been driving it since then with power window and lock on the driver's side and all manual on the passenger's side, with the off-color interior door panel due to the different mechanisms. We still have the old door with all the power parts in it, and the matching red interior door panel, the new owner is welcome to take these with or leave same at their pleasure. The front fender was also replaced later. About a year and a half ago, she hit something and blew the air bags. This also resulted in the front bumper cover being loose, the bumper support is somewhat bent (did not damage front core or bumper mount), and the right headlight is loose. She stuffed the airbags back in and taped them up and has been driving it like this since. The A/C cools, but there is a problem with the vent; the air only blows out the defrost ducts and near the floor - won't come out the dash. The exhaust is a little loud. There is a rattle in the front end, expect some front end work will be required but haven't had it checked out. Windshield is cracked with spider web cracks on passenger side. Various body dings, most noticeable is dent in left-front fender. The story: The good stuff may look short and the bad stuff may look long; but you'll see the flaws when you get here anyway, so why waste all of our time hiding them? So if you're still reading, I expect you're still seeing the diamond in the rough. When our daughter bought this Mustang, it had been well cared for and maintained well by it's previous owner; it was actually a very nice car. Three years, a couple accidents, and a bit of neglect and carelessness have taken their toll on the car. While it's surely showing some bumps and bruises, the car is still sound and solid with a strong and fairly economical drive train. And it IS a red Mustang with a red interior. I would say that this is an excellent entry into Mustang ownership. It's not a rust-bucket as so many are at this price, the reserve price is low enough that you can get into this Mustang at an econo-box cost, and it's a reliable driver as it sits.
