Vehicle Detail
This is a 1972 Honda CB450. It has been kept in a barn since 1987. It is the 2 cylinder Dual Over Head Cam engine model. The exterior of the bike is in excellent conditon. The total mileage on the bike itself is 33000 but the VIN of the engine isnt the same so Im unsure whether it has had the engine replace in it prior years of if the came factory with non-matching engine/frame VIN's. It does however run, but has a leaky petcock (dryrotted seals), and the carbs need rebuilt as the floats are sticking, so between the leaky petcock and the stuck floats the bike white smokes and these should be fixed. I have priced the petcock through honda and it is $45 for a complete brand new one, carb rebuild is cheap repair as well. I have installed brand new mirrors, spark plugs, air filters, battery, and done an oil change since I purchased it. The title I have listed as "other" because the bike was last registered in New Hampshire in 1987. The title has since been lost but I do have the plate on the bike from the last time it was registered. When I called the New Hampsire BMV they told me titles are exempt on vehicles older than 15 years in their state so this bike is being sold on Bill of Sale only as from what I was told would make it clear for registration. The VIN is CB450-5023747, I have ran it through my local County Court and the bike is clear of theft and leins. The reserve is set low and isn't near the cash or time invested. My phone number is 812/276-3914; if you have any further questions feel free to contact me via that number or ebay messaging. Thanks for looking and Happy Bidding. On Jun-24-10 at 12:39:59 PDT, seller added the following information:Ive been getting questions on if the bike is registerable to ride. Yes it is. All that is needed to register this bike is a Bill of Sale signing the bike from Me to You, Proof of Insurance, and a VIN Check. This is only since the bike is from New Hampshire orignally where they have title exempt, so this does not apply for other bikes, other bikes you would have to have the title in order to register it.
