Vehicle Detail

Original Colorado truck, 1937 Dodge 1 ton stakebed. Included is the empty fuel tank currently mounted on the frame. This is a very unique, very fun combination that would be a showstopper when finished, or when mechanically restored to drive as is. I am third owner of this truck, having received it from my grandfather in 1999. At that time, the title had not changed hands since 1954, much to the shock of the DMV. I have the clear title in my possession, titled through the Minnesota Department of Driver and Vehicle Services. The truck is located in the Twin Cities area. The body and frame on the truck are rock solid, even the wood access panel in the floor is in good condition. All of the glass complete, though some discoloration has taken place over the years. The truck has not been driven, as I understand it, since the late 50's. I can only verify that going back to 1967, as it has been retired my entire life. This has the original flathead 6 cylinder motor, which has not been run since the 50's, so while I cannot guarantee it's internal condition, I was told that it was running at the time of it's retirement. My grandfather owned a service station and had many, many vehicles. When he decided it was time for them to be retired he added them to his collection on his property. Adding to the appeal of this truck is the Phillips 66 fuel tank (empty) which rests on the frame of the truck. I will not separate the two, so please respect that decision. Included with the sale of this truck is a complete repair manual, the windshield crank cover, and any other items I uncover that are related to this truck. The worst area on this truck is the grill, which is evident in the pictures that I have included. It is also missing the hood ornament. I have seen all of these for sale on Ebay, just have not pulled the trigger on obtaining them. The hole at the bottom of the grill was for the crank, which is not with the truck. This truck is a roller, riding on it's original split rims with newer used tires which are inflated and ready to go. These rims are very dangerous and referred to as 'Widow Makers' and I would suggest having someone trained in this area deal with them. When picking this truck up, you will need a flatbed or trailer with a very strong winch. This is a heavy truck. I did transport it myself from Colorado to Minnesota with my Suburban, and did just fine. There is no warranty with this vehicle, and no guarantees with regard to it's running condition. It needs to be mechanically restored to be streetable. This includes brakes, tranny, motor, and wiring. There have not been rodent issues with this truck as long as it has been in my possession. At the close of the sale, a $500 non refundable deposit will be expected via Paypal within 48 hours. The remainder to be paid at the time of pickup via cash, unless you choose to pay the rest through Paypal prior to pickup. All funds will need to be accounted for before the title or vehicle change hands. I will assist to the best of my ability with loading the truck, and will answer any questions that you may have regarding the truck. You can either post your questions here, or feel free to call me at 651-230-2056. Again, this is being sold as a package deal. I will not be parting anything out, and I will not separate the truck and the fuel tank, which is dry and empty. Thank you for looking and bidding.
